The Anglican Church today released a report that has been a year in the making that denounces the Episcopalian appointment of a non-celibate
homosexual as Bishop as a promotion of homosexuality. The church is threatening to cut ties to the Episcopal Church, a rift that would be the first
of its kind in around 500* years.

London An Anglican commission sharply criticized the U.S. Episcopal Church on Monday for consecrating a gay bishop and called on the Americans to
apologize.
The commission, led by Irish Anglican leader Robin Eames, Archbishop of Armagh, stopped far short of demands from conservatives to expel the U.S.
church and made no recommendations about whether Bishop Robinson should be removed.
It urged the Episcopal Church to refrain from promoting any other clergy living in a homosexual union and proposed that the 38 national churches
constituting the Anglican Communion sign a covenant expressing their support for what it called current Anglican teachings.

It will be interesting to see the effect of this report on the Anglican, Episcopalian, and Catholic churches. The Anglican demand for an
Episcopalian apology will likely go unanswered.
