Efficiency and Human nature

Just thought I would put together a quick thread to better conceptualize a thought that broke through the surface of my usual thoughts.

If we as humans continue to promote efficiency in every facet of our lives, why then do we act as agents of entropy in the grand scheme of things?

We create efficiencies to make our. Lives easier, businesses successful and technology better. This all seems in contradiction to our very nature of create inefficiencies and entropy.

I may have my thought pattern jumbled up but,

Why try to create order out of chaos, when everything is heading towards chaos eventually?
