That is exactly what I was thinking. They know Obama is weak and don't want someone elected that would strengthen ties with Israel, keep the military strong, and not put up with Iran getting the bomb and also support the Syrian rebels. Iran is supporting the Assad regime with military advisers and equipment. I heard somewhere that they had also supplied some of the troops. It is bad for Iran to have Romney in office and knowing how weak Obama is and the way this administration feels about Israel is all good for Iran.

The Strait of Hormuz is the Worlds Oil Life Line.

IRAN....has broken just about every part of the NPT. As part of that treaty...Iran must allow International Nuclear Inspectors access to any and all Nuclear Sites. There must be Video Cameras Installed and WORKING at every site...Iran has pulled all of them out. Iran threw out all Nuclear Inspectors from their country. Iran is not allowed to develop or build secret Nuclear Sites as it has admitted doing as well as U.S. Satellite Tech. detection of several other Nuclear Sites. Iran has removed Nuclear Fuel Rods from Reactors without supervision of International Nuclear Inspectors. Iran has the right to Uranium Enrichment...but it also has built Tens of Thousands of CENTRIFUGES which do not break the treaty...cost thousands of times more than simply purchasing Reactor Fuel from Russia or another state.

But the BIGGEST MISTAKE IRAN HAS MADE....is that it is playing NUCLEAR GAMES WITH A SUPER POWER! A game it will loose and loose badly! Split Infinity

Israel, India and Pakistan never signed the NPT yet we give all them aid of one sort or another.

Please cite some legitimate sources for your claims that Iran has broken all parts of the NPT and has thrown out inspectors. BTW, the US is a signatory to the NPT, and part of it's duty as a signatory is to eliminate its nuclear weapons, which it clearly has not done. Also doubt the US allows international inspectors into all of its nuclear and military facilities. The US has also given cruise missile technology to the rogue nuclear state of Israel, so the US has no credibility in discouraging nuclear weapons proliferation. Also contrary to the NPT, the US has threatened, during the Bush II regime, to possibly use nuclear weapons to attack Iranian nuclear facilities; this is strictly forbidden by the NPT, so the US has no moral high ground when attempting to wave the NPT around.

As for a developing nuclear power playing nuclear games with a superpower, North Korea had played the game just fine, thank you very much.

THIS....is the way it is. If you are a country that wishes to purchase Nuclear Tech....you must meet certain qualifications as well as sign the NPT. The NUCLEAR NON-PROLIFERATION TREATY was a way to allow countries to make use of the immense Power Generating Capacity of Nuclear Fission Reactors.

This was thought as a Good Way to allow Countries such as Japan...a Country which has very little in the way of Natural Resources...No Oil, Coal or Natural Gas reserves to speak of...to be able to Purchase Nuclear Reactor Tech. and supply their Nation with Electrical Power Generation while at the same time...Japan...which has signed the NPT...would not be allowed to Enrich Uranium to Weapons Grade nor does it allow Japan to make nuclear Weapons. Japan...up until the Earthquake and Tsunami....generated a very large portion of it's Electrical Energy from Nuclear Power Reactors...and Japan...a One Time U.S. Enemy has bloomed into an Economic Success and when the Earthquake and Tsunami hit...the U.S. Military and especially the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Powered Carrier Task Force based in Japan...was Helping the people of Japan, quicker, more efficiently and to an extent that the Japanese themselves could not accomplish. The Japanese Leadership was considering BANNING the Nuclear Powered Carrier Force Group from being stationed in Japan but after the Disaster...the Gratitude of the Japanese People for the U.S. Military's Quick and Greater Capability of response to help the Japanese changed the minds of the Japanese Leadership as well as the Japanese Population.

Many a Japanese News Media gave great praise at the U.S. Military's efforts and DEMANDED TO KNOW WHY a former Enemy was able to quickly HELP when help was needed as well as reach Disaster Sites that the Japanese Government had all but written off as IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH OR HELP...as well as the U.S. Navy's ability to find buried victims and fly them to U.S. Navy Hospital Ships while their own Government acted in a disorganized and impotent manner?

So Japan is a Country that signed and Obeyed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty even though it was a former U.S. Enemy and has prospered as well as received HELP when help was needed by the U.S. as apposed to IRAN...a Country that has broken the NPT and THROWING OUT NUCLEAR INSPECTORS AS WELL AS THEIR OWN STATEMENT that they Broke the NPT by building a Secret Nuclear Site which U.S. Satellites found.

Iran's REGIME WILL BE REMOVED....it is just a matter of time. Split Infinity

The October surprise was the unemployment numbers going down. Obviously since it was planned it is bogus. An announcement of Iran claiming they are stopping Uranium enrichment which they swear they are not doing would not be believable to begin with.

U-3 dropped 0.5% but U-6 stayed the same. What a farce.

The U.S. made some very bad calls when it supported the SHAH as part of an overall plan to stop Soviet Plans which were very real and confirmed when the new Democratic Russia under Yeltsin released the actual INVASION PLANS OF THE MIDDLE EAST AND EUROPE...your the WORLD TO SEE.

Even though the U.S. support of the Shah was a mistake...it did cause the Soviet Union to first invade Afghanistan which turned into THE SOVIET UNION'S VIETNAM. The ORIGINAL PLANS called for Multiple Soviet Divisions to Invade through Turkey as well as Iran where One Soviet Division would sweep South West into Turkey as a Diversion and the MAIN BODY of Soviet Forces would plow into Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and with the MAIN GOAL being the seizing of KUWAIT as well as any land or Country that boarders the PERSIAN GULF....as there were TWO MAIN REASONS behind this plan.

In order to fight a long protracted battle that the Soviet's hoped would not go NUCLEAR at the plans first stage...STAGE ONE being seizing the OIL FIELDS of the ARABIAN PENINSULA as well as seizing the Oil Fields of Iraq and IRAN...the Soviet Union hoped that they could quickly seize these areas that would provide them not only FUEL that is a MUST for MILITARY EQUIPMENT such as Tanks, Personal Carriers...etc...but a WARM WEATHER NAVAL PORT that the Soviet's had been seeking for close to 50 YEARS. In fact these Invasion Plans existed in the days of STALIN when Nazi Germany and Stalin discussed capturing the Oil Fields.

The WARM WEATHER NAVAL PORT was considered a MUST for the Soviet's to be able to build a Navy that rivaled the Massive U.S. Navy. This was all part of achieving the REAL GOAL which was the INVASION OF EUROPE. The United States which was aware of all parts of this plan by gaining Intel from a defector who's DEATH WAS FAKED...when in fact he had crossed over to WEST BERLIN in a secret underground tunnel...decided to nip the plan in the bud by PRESIDENT CARTER PROCLAIMING....THE CARTER DOCTRINE. This doctrine stated...ANY INVASION OR ATTACK UPON THE MIDDLE EASTERN OIL PRODUCING COUNTRIES IS CONSIDERED A DIRECT ATTACK UPON THE NATIONAL SECURITY OF THE UNITED STATES AND ANY AND ALL MEASURES OR MILITARY OPTIONS WILL BE USED TO ENSURE THE PROTECTION OF THE OIL PRODUCING COUNTRIES OF THE MIDDLE EAST.

In the end...the Soviet plan was FAR FETCHED as the U.S. would have used Nuclear Weapons and had developed the NEUTRON BOMB specifically for the purpose of Killing a Soviet Invading Force and Preserving the Oil. Split Infinity

I'd like to bump this discussion by adding this:

TEHRAN, Iran—Iran is ready to show flexibility at nuclear talks to ease Western concerns over its nuclear program, its foreign ministry spokesman said on Saturday, as tensions rise in the standoff between the country, Israel and the West.

Perhaps this is part of the puzzle?

Well, here's an interesting tidbit today, supporting your claim OP, of impending talks with Iran on their nuclear program.

You gotta wonder if this is a diplomatic breakthrough or convenient propaganda...

Oh, maybe not. It seems the Obama administration has now denied what other Obama administration officials apparently released through the NY Times and MSNBC. It's increasingly hard for these guys to get any foreign policy story straight -- seems to me.

Loads of confusion (not surprised) on this

The pattern of BeeEss continues !!

WASHINGTON — The United States and Iran have agreed in principle for the first time to one-on-one negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, according to Obama administration officials, setting the stage for what could be a last-ditch diplomatic effort to avert a military strike on Iran.

Iranian officials have insisted that the talks wait until after the presidential election, a senior administration official said, telling their American counterparts that they want to know with whom they would be negotiating. ....

U.S. Officials Say Iran Has Agreed to Nuclear Talks

WASHINGTON – On the eve of the last presidential debate – focusing, of course, on foreign policy – the White House is flat-out denying there are any plans for one-on-one talks between the U.S. and Iran on its uranium enrichment program.

While WND broke a story this week quoting Iranian sources as saying a deal has already been brokered between high-ranking U.S. administration negotiators and a representative of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and the New York Times followed up today with a story suggesting the U.S. and Iran were on the verge of opening one-on-one talks, the White House quickly denied the story.....

U.S.-Iran nuke talks: On or off?

UPDATE 1: (Via Politico ) The White House is denying the U.S. will be engaging in one on one talks with Iran:

National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor offered a denial.

"It’s not true that the United States and Iran have agreed to one-on-one talks or any meeting after the American elections," he said in a statement.

"We continue to work with the P-5 on a diplomatic solution and have said from the outset that we would be prepared to meet bilaterally. The president has made clear that he will prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, and we will do what we must to achieve that. It has always been our goal for sanctions to pressure Iran to come in line with its obligations. The onus is on the Iranians to do so, otherwise they will continue to face crippling sanctions and increased pressure."

However, The New York Times noted that Israel is critical of these direct talks and said that the Obama administration "had not informed" the Israeli government of the negotiations with Iran:

Israeli officials initially expressed an awareness of, and openness to, a diplomatic initiative. But when asked for a response on Saturday, Israel’s ambassador to Washington, Michael B. Oren, said the administration had not informed Israel, and that the Israeli government feared Iran would use new talks to “advance their nuclear weapons program.”

PICKET: Report - Israel says Obama admin 'had not informed' them of upcoming U.S. talks with Iran

The Administration is typically injecting confusion to divert and deflect

Where the Hell are the Straight Answers ?

I think it is obvious "convenient propaganda".

The standard injections of confusion are the giveaway.

It's a set up to "pinch" the next debate. Obama is out of ammo.

Maybe the "Inspection Team" should be Obama and The Pope ....

The "Tour Guides" should be Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Ahmadinejad

I think it is obvious "convenient propaganda".

The authorship of the original article should be a dead giveaway.

Reza Kahlili is a pseudonym for a former CIA operative in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards...He serves on ... the advisory board of the Foundation for Democracy in Iran (FDI).

The Foundation for Democracy in Iran is a U.S. organization. Several of its Board Members are current or former CIA assets, including former CIA Director Wollsey and former Defense intelligence operative Frank Gaffney, and others are openly affiliated with the Mossad intelligence agency, including Menashe Amir.[citation needed] FDI was founded in 1995 by Kenneth R. Timmerman, Peter W. Rodman, Joshua Muravchik and American intelligence officials advocating regime change in Iran.[citation needed]
Recently, the group gained attention for a lawsuit it brought in the Southern District of New York for Manhattan alleging that Iran was behind the 9-11 terrorist attacks.[citation needed]

In other words: the author who wrote the headline is part of the "future rulership of Iran in waiting".

Perhaps calling any secret deal an election ploy may cause the target audience to pick the other guy. The Iran Government in Waiting may actually prefer Romny

Valerie Jarrett has been secretly involved in Iran negotiations... A non elected adviser representing the US?..

And thanks to YNetNews, we may now know who the administration’s designated voice is: Obama confidante and senior adviser Valerie Jarrett. From the article:

A Chicago lawyer is the key player behind the secret talks between the US and Iran, Yedioth Ahronoth reported Monday. A close friend of Michelle Obama, Valerie Jarrett is assisting the US government communicate behind the scenes with the representatives of Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

Jarret, who was born in the Iranian city of Shiraz, is a senior advisor to US President Barack Obama.

Who would have thought the Barack and Michelle's matchmaker would ever yield such power and influence...??

Watch Out!! Jarrett is accountable to no one!!!
