Australia has had some success on the world musical stage. What is your favourite, most heard or even hated Australian song or piece of music?

How ignorant of me -- I didn't know AC/DC was Australian...!
From the old days I would have to count "Beds are Burning", and "Touch Myself".
More recently (though probably still "old" to many) - "Creep" by Radiohead.

Yeah this was extremely popular right up to the mid 70's in Oz. I saw Rolf perform this as a youngster in the early 70's at a local shopping centre. Hardly hear of it now.

I last saw Wolfmother as the support or opening act for Australia's leg on the last AC/DC Black Ice tour

Interesting you should mention Midnight Oil's Beds are Burning. I don't know if you have heard Peter Garrett the lead singer is now a publicly elected politician and member of parliament for the Australian Labor Party. I 'll just say that. Opinions about his performance is another topic though.

I touch myself by band the Divynls was recorded in the USA with Randy Jackson on the bass.

Would not swear to it, but I thought Radiohead were British. I could be wrong though

Although was Rolf Harris was extremely popular when I was a child and we hardly listen to him anymore it is good to see he still gets mention these days.

I don't know how many would have heard him perform this with his "wobble board" instrument

Thanks for the education!
Yeah - I could be mixing & matching...but also could have sworn that I read (initially) that Radiohead was of Australian roots... Nevertheless - I stand corrected.
I'm guessing Mr. Garrett hasn't strayed far from his musical leanings in the political arena (?)...
