A High Court judge has halted the extradition of Abu Hamza al-Masri to the US on terror charges after the cleric launched a last-ditch appeal.

An injunction temporarily stops the removal of the radical cleric and another suspect from the UK and is the latest move in a long legal battle.

The European Court of Human Rights had earlier rejected attempts to block them being sent for trial in the US.

The pair will outline their appeals at a hearing next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Actually I was not being too serious, personally I think Abu Hamza is a total dick. He may consider himself a good Muslim but as a bomb maker he was extremely, dare I say? ham-fisted.

Yes I agree but when the rights of one outway the rights of the many surely something is wrong
My main point though is that a comparison of hamza to assange is pretty fragging thin

What about the rights of his victims ( be them factual or suspected )
What about the rights of the victims of those he's inspired
What about the rights of the families of those he's radicalised
What about the rights of the Brits whom have tried to remove this mooching preacher of hate from their midst

the judge gotta be insane, the sooner he is extradited to the u.s and given the death penalty the better and it may also then deter others from insighting such hatred and unprovoked attacks on innocent people!

But hell, no need to give him to the US ........I'll take him off your hands and 'drop' him off somewhere more suited to his views, 5,6 and GCHQ have milked this puppy dry, time to mag to grid

I'd LOVE to see how he gets on in say swat valley or Afghanistan ......

I don't see the problem. Obama has already claimed the right to kill anyone anywhere by any means he chooses. It's just a matter of time until he gets on the kill-list....
