Is there any reason I can't sort threads by most recent post without having to scroll through the most-flagged in the past five days? It's kind of annoying to have that on top of all the stickies to go through before seeing what's new.

Right above the page numbers you should be able to check "last reply" and it will go bac to normal.

Nope, that's what I've got selected and it's still there. Maybe something with my browser, although that wouldn't make much sense.

Maybe try deleting your cookies and then doing it?

I tried Ctrl-F5 (cache bypass) and that didn't fix it. Hate clearing my cookies because then I have to go through everything and log back in.
