Japanese Laboratory Unit 731: Experiments Performed On Live Humans

Japanese Unit 731 gained worldwide notoriety for being a laboratory and a research station in which the medical, biological and chemical experiments were often performed on live humans (mostly prisoners of war from China or Korea).

Although inhumanely cruel, the experiments resulted in incredible discoveries that fast forwarded our understanding of the human body.

Interestingly, top officers of this unit were not prosecuted at the Tokyo War Crimes Trials - America gave the higher up perpetrators complete immunity in return for their research.

So there was no real justice for the victims who were hacked to pieces while alive, injected with the plague etc etc. A comparable example in Germany would be "Dr" Mengele and his associates being given exemption from trial by the Allies at the Nuremburg War Crimes trials had they been captured and brought before the court.

Yeah, thats war and crimes commited in it for you - if the crimes benefit the victor, they will be discharged. Why not? The bad guys did it, they shared their infos, sometimes you have to do a deal..

Its ugly. I know it, look at Mengele - but much knowledge about the functions of the human body under lower and lowest air-pressure base on his studies. And nowadays we fly in aircrafts feeling perfectly well partly because of his horrible deeds.

Yes 731 is an established unit in Japan Yes they did those tests.Americans were reportedly involved there are records, They're persnickity about that over there.
One has but to wonder how many of them were duplicated by Germany who got burned for theirs.Lower echlon personnel only,we kept the higher ones they were smart.
