Do crazy/retarded people know they are crazy/retarded?

Just curious, do mentally ill people// crazy /retarded people know they are crazy or retarded?

One of the reasons i ask is i think I might be crazy but uh how do i tell?

I guess it depends on the degree of mental retardation/illness. I think truly crazy folks probably think normal folks are crazy. As a rule of thumb... I believe that if you have to ask if you are crazy, you probably aren't.

depends how many responses you get.

Also I think the majority of people that are "Mentally ill"/retarded/insane etc probably are not aware that they have any condition until someone points it out to them, or they are hospitalized.

I would say no... The majority on ATS seems to be both crazy and retarded these days and they are completely oblivious to it.
