First off, like everyone else and their hamster on this board, let me say what a pleasure it is to have you as a distinguished speaker. We really appreciate it!

I had two big questions.

1. The Rendelsham Forest/Bentwaters incident back in 1980 in Britain has been pretty hotly debated. I dont buy the lightouse story at all. What is your opinion on the incident, and are both the British and American govornments still engaged in a mutual cover-up? What happened to the many witnesses to the event?

2. The Airforce claims the Roswell incident might have been project Mogul. I personally believe this is more dis-information. However, do you know who started the whole Mogul story, and what explaination has the Air Force/govornment given regarding why they kept such an outdated and outmoded project top secret for 50 years? When did they decide to use this paticular project as a Roswell excuse? And do you know of anyone currently in the govornment, or more recently in it, that have stated Mogul was BS excuse for Roswell?

3. What is the current attitude and situation in the govornment and military regarding UFOs? So far, the subject has faded from memory, and very little speculation as to the govornments current attitudes towards UFOs, in light of the war on terror. Any information or insight would be great.

I have talked to Colonel Halt, Peter Robbins, Larry Warren, Georgina Bruni, Nick Pope aand others about Rendlesham mostly in the UK. I am satisfied that this was a real flying saucer event and that the criticsms don't stand up. The basic government line in the UK and the USA is that there are no alien visitors so one can't admit that any are here and have landed. Left at East Gate is a good book.

Mogul was known about back in 1980 when Bill Moore and I were researching the Roswell Incident as described in The Roswell Incident.
USAF Colonel Richard Weaver wrote the huge 1994 Report "The Roswell Report: Truth Vs. Fiction in the New Mexico Desert" He provided the fiction ,not only lying but with selective choice of data. even lying about me and Major Marcel. I wrote a long paper about what was wrong with the Mogul explanation. The History channel on Oct. 10 showed a huge polyethelene Balloon.. NONSENSE, Mogul Balloon trains prior to July 7, 1947 included 20-25 small neorpene balloons at 20' intervals, sonobuoys, radar reflectors etc. The characteristics of the balloons don't match at all witness descriptions from Major Marcel, his son Dr. Jesse Marcel, The rancher's testimony, his son's testimony etc clearly are not of MOGUL.. The Mogul program was cancelled decades ago because it wasn't a great idea. Evidence of the 1st Soviet nuclear test came from air sampling by military planes after the August 1949 first Soviet nuclear test.. not from Mogul. Colonel Weaver's specialty was, not surprisingly, Disinformation.

When queried the offical view is careflly worded propaganda.. no sighting investigated evaluated by the USAF gives any evidence of being a threatto the security of the USA.. neither do the penguins in Antactica.. but they also are real.
The USAF does not have in its possession any flying saucers.. so if the Army, Navy, NSA, MJ_12 did, it would still be a true but meaningless statement. The USAF has no evidence that UFOs represent technology beyond our knowledge . I worked on nuclear fusion 42 years ago.. it is not beyond our knowledge. In short there is lots of denial echoed by SETI Cultists (SETI stands for Silly Effort to Investigate) as I noted in a recent column in the MUFON Journal

I was not aware that weaver was a disinformation specialist. I had thought he was simply another mouthpiece/errand boy for his superiors. Seems he is a little more than that, and that certainly puts the fallacy of MOGUL in a whole new light.

I actually have "Left at Wast Gate". I agree, the whole reflections from the lighthouse explaination is about as absurd as it gets. ia ctually knew people in the airforce her were tsationed around that area at that time who said the same thing. I have also read Nick Pope's "Open Skies, Closed Minds". Excellent reads.

I also tend to agree about SETI. the system is absurd, asuming that ETs will probably only communicate via radio signals, or if they got our signal, they would know if it was intelligent or not.

Thanks for your response, it has answered a few questions for me, and enlightened me on a few matters as well.

I also agree with you on the "grey basket". I have one of my own, that empties just as quick as i fill it!

[EDIT: I went into my storage and found my old copy of "Top Secret/MAJIC" and went through it again, and realized, back then, you stated Weaver was disinformation. At the time when I read it, which was around 98 or 99, when I first moved to seattle, Weaver's name nor prject MOGUL meant nothing to me. Reading the book again refreshed alot of memory, such as the Letter to Patty Murray, who still is one of our senators, and your response to Schubert.

I also got a kick about something you said about Klass's article trying to debunk MJ-12:

"Klass's second Sceptical Inquirer article, "The MJ-12 Papers: Part 2" (Spring 1988), contained so much baloney it should have been distributed by a delicatessen."
