I did a search and didn't come across this
specific video.
This is VS Ramachandran. Recently voted one of Time magazines
100 most influential people.
He is a pillar in neuroscience research and his methods for treating
mental illness are groundbreaking. This video addresses
the way our brain processes situations.
For example he has made huge strides for patients with
phantom limb pains which may be paving the for others,
like returning vets, to help their conditions without drugs and
strangely, simply through perception.

It's not very long and I think you will find your time was not wasted.

If you don't have access to you tube and are interested please search him out.
Truly fascinating man.

I have to make time to check out the video later.

Yesterday I came across this TED video of David Blaine talking about how he held his breath for 17 minutes.
I thought it was pretty cool.

Thank you for that Drala, I needed that.
This place is rough sometimes.
I was hoping a man talking about how amazing are brains are
wouldn't be too controversial .

My main question is, how did y'all ever find this thread?
It was tough for me and I started it.

I've seen some of his other talks before. He's great at making neuroscience so interesting and engaging!

He's featured here in this clip about an actual patient with Capgras syndrome:

I cant watch the video at the moment, but Im certain I will like it.

I visit the TED talk website a good amount, and it is full of amazing talks. If Ive had a bad day or just feel down at the moment, I can go there and watch a talk, and my spirits will be lifted.

That's interesting. When I had my nerve surgery, for a while I when I started feeling my foot again, it felt like my foot was on backwards. It felt really sickening. It went away in time.
