Remember "I'm just a Bill" from School House Rock? Seems Bill has been having a few problems these days. There's a new kid in town. Meet Alec.

A new video updates a classic Schoolhouse Rock concept to explain the basics behind the American Legislative Exchange Council controversy.

“ALEC Rock,” produced by Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoonist Mark Fiore and a number of advocacy groups including the Center for Media and Democracy, introduces us to “ALEC,” a malevolent replacement for the traditional Bill.

Yes kiddies, you didn't actually think regular citizen's concerns were "Bills" now did you? No wonder we have to spend so much time fighting junk legislation like SOPA.

Enjoy your Cheerios and the new brand of "School House Rock" you will likely never see in school.

Raw Story

And some classic viewing for us Old School members.
How 'Merica used to work...

It's is a pity that the media has done such a great job ignoring the whole ALEC-thing.

They're basically the "Business Plot" of the 21st Century....

...and unlike the Business Plot of 1933, they've pretty much won.

We are not the people we once were.
