DHAKA, Oct. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- An F-28 aircraft of Bangladesh Biman narrowly escaped a major accident when it skidded off from the slippery runway
under heavy rain, at MAG Osmani International Airport in the northeastern Sylhet Friday.
Two passengers got their legs fractured and the rest received minor injuries, reported the United News of Bangladesh, a private news agency in the
country.
The Sylhet-bound aircraft BG-601 from Dhaka with 79 passengers and three crew on board landed at the airport and skidded off nearly 30 yards from
the runway.
Captain Shahana, who was operating the aircraft, was trapped inside the cockpit and later rescued by having the door cut.
Those injured were taken to different hospitals and clinics fortreatment, police said."
