I'm pretty amazed. We have a vet who lost his had.
And now has a prosthetic that actually opens and closes.
He can actually make a fist with it.
And all with his thought.

Very cool!

After testing out a state of the art prosthetic hand at the Hanger Clinic in New York, Kyle, a retired Marine, decided he would give a prosthetic hand a try. Dr. Richard Besser, ABC News Chief Health and Medical editor, checks in with Kyle to see what having a hand for the first time in four years is like.

Check out the video it's very inspiring.

A bit creepy if you ask me... Shame they didn't explain how it works...

Will they be extending this technology to all the afghani and iraqi victims too?

Not sure. It's like 80K for the arm.
Very pricey.
Hopefully it will come down in price.

It was pretty much a rhetorical question, of course they will not be receiving anything like it! Not even the bog standard prosthetics.

Although it may be good for this guy, I can't help but think of all the people the guy and his mates put in the same situation but will not receive any form of help... Kinda sick really to be honest.

I have no sympathy for the dude, no--one forced him to go, he had a choice! They had no right to be there! OH but he loved the army cos of the camaraderie? Pretty much every bit of this made me wanna puke!
