I went to college during the 1990s and learned a lot of facts and stuff.

so today i'm sitting in the doctor's office with my mom because she's got a kidney stone. In this office was a small two foot plastic skeleton. So I was looking at it and going over the bones and I found out something.

At one time I used to know every single bone there was to know about.

Now, I know very little names of bones. I knew the ribs, the skull, the femur and a few others, but over all I've lost more than 80% of the names of the bones I knew.

so it tells me I'm getting older.

That's one of the sad things about age, is unless you're in a profession that you practice the things you know, you'll eventually lose a lot of knowledge that you once knew. At least for many people.

I really wish that once you learned something, you never forgot it.

But I'm not so old yet!

There's still some life in these creaky old bones of mine!

And where's there's life, THERE'S HOPE!

Let's make no bones about it.

Louie CK does many good bits on Aging, you might like him, One i related to was my doctor telling me about my knee pain "yea that happens as you age" to my question of why?

But yea my wife and I came to the same realization the other day, we are no longer "young adults" and well on our way through a march through mid life.

So why do I retain so much useless information.
I'm talking about bizarre trivia and the most unusual crap that most people would never remember.
I say this as my 20th reunion comes up and strange things pop into my head about the people I went to school with. And they say how can you remember that stuff.
It's just funny to have a selective memory I guess.

I prefer to think of it as talent, or selective encyclopedic knowledge.
