I need a new gadget. Need opinions.

Ok, I'm not a cell phone type dude, so cells are out of the question. But I am looking for something along the lines of an IPod. (I don't want an IPod) I don't have nor ever want anything Apple. To many restrictions...well anyway. What I was thinking of was an Adroid "IPod" type thing with at least 3G and a front and back facing cam. Anybody know of and/or used a reliable little gadget like that?

The new iPad with this stylus is a pretty sweet browsing/gaming/other-apps experience.

I agree about the Apple philosophy being off-putting (it ebbs and flows, but it has been bad for a while now). No other platform is as good for consumers who don't care about those things that we find off-putting, however.

Or stick with laptop-type devices. Everything else is a waste of time/fad IMO.

Nobody "needs" a new gadget. Put your money away for a rainy day. The desire for a new thing that as of yet is undefined is an excellent example of the kind of "makes me feel good (for a second)" rampant consumerism that put our shiny Country in such a state of disrepair.

I consider it a major win when I can go the entire week and buy nothing but food.

Theres something called a Zune HD. Its like an Ipod but it doesnt play web video from youtube.. But its half the price.

You can still get the same hulu and netflix apps though.

So you basically want all the features of a modern cell phone except calls? Just get a phone.

Windows 8 tablets are going to blow the ipad out of the water. i say wait for one of these badboys to come out. its pretty much a desktop pc

buy a normal good dependable cell phone, for the purpose you are buying it.


to make calls.



dial in the number, and talk over the phone to a person.




you don't need to pay 300$ to have a cheap weak computer in your phone.

its a scam.



just buy a normal generic dependable cell phone.

if you buy an expensive phone, you wont feel a sense of happiness, you will most likely feel regret, and then you will want another expensive thing you don't actually want or need.

i don't want something because others want it and have it, i want it because I WANT IT, or NEED it.


don't give these power hungry companies more money, they will take it and come out with a new phone the second you buy it.


its not worth it OP, buy a normal cell phone.

Sorry, guess I was trying too hard. But eventually at least one person got it.

Get a fleshlight, hours(or minutes) of fun, just don't tell the other half


Seriously though, what about a little 7" tablet. Creative and Archos do some pretty sweet ones at decent prices.

Hahaha s&f just for fellow ownership, and having the stones to say so. Had to give it up though, imagine getting caught using it

Back on topic though, the Samsung galaxy note might fit the bill, although it runs an older version of Android(2.3) and is in fact a glorified, giant phone.
