Nice. Perfect timing too, with the DVD box set coming out and all.
On that note, however, it seemed that Cheney and Edwards did see eye to eye on an opinion they do not seem to share with the President. That issue
was that of gay marriage and the effort to enact a constitutional amendment banning it.
I thought it was great that Cheney said that the President makes policy and that he is the President's man so he'll abide by whatever policy the
president chooses. Then, after Edwards pointed out his daughter's homosexuality and lauded the Cheney family for their support of her, Edwards went
on to argue that 1) this is a state's rights issue, 2) states do not have to abide by the marriage laws of other states, 3) gay partnerships suffer
for the lack of official acknowledgement in many key areas including hospital visitation rights, etc.
Cheney couldn't argue and simply thanked Edwards for the tribute to his family and let the issue drop.
