I do not have trouble sleeping because of it.but my forehead and bridge of nose start feel strange touch.

Smething very similar happened to my cousin once, years ago.
She wears contact lenses; without them everything looks blurry to her.

Then one night, the first time she took a capsule of melatonin to help her sleep, she removed her lenses before going to bed, and when she closed her eyes,in the darkness, with no lenses, she suddenly saw the piece of furniture in the far corner of her bedroom that she was facing. She saw it with absolute clarity. In the dark. With no lenses. With her eyes CLOSED.
She said she never saw anything with such acuity - that she never knew such acuity of vision was even possible.

Only when she tried to blink, because she was startled, she realized that her eyes had been closed all the time.

I don't remember when this happened, but she told me about it years before 2009, so it wasn't the Hadron collider's fault. I think.

The melatonin.... that probably wasn't a coincidence.
But as far as I know, it never happened again, melatonin or not.

Apparently I am too late to edit my first post. Anyway, after speaking to her about this, I just wanted to add that the melatonin apparently had zero effect on her sleep - not then, not at any time later. So, whatever caused it, it probably wasn't hypnagogic. (It certainly wasn't a dream.)
But I think the melatonin connection definitely should be investigated.

Isn't the so-called "third eye" traditionally associated to the pineal gland - which also secretes melatonin?
That would confirm the causal connection to the melatonin capsule in my cousin's case.

You can do it in the "between state" between being awake and sleeping, when you are extremely relaxed. It is (in my opinion) closely related to lucid dreams/astral projection...... images appear and you can literally "see" them the same way as when you see something when you're awake. But it always needs a lot of focus/concentration and i usually can't do it for long, only for some seconds...then i feel "normal" consciousness setting in again and i can't get it back anymore.
