If this were my world, bullies like these would get one chance to sincerely repent and become productive members of society. If they weren't repentant, they'd get shot. We don't need little bastards like these in society. And usually little bastards like these don't grow up and out of this kind of phase. This is a society that enables bullies, not disables them. I don't understand the attitude that all children must be coddled and spoiled. Coddling and spiling kids is one of the ebst way to create little monsters like these.

I am never violent, but when it's an innocent old lady, and they start talking about her family killing themselves because they couldn't stand her (even though its not true), it makes me think of the thread where the teacher had the kids in class slap the bully, except in this case I'd involve baseball bats.

What the *bleep* has this world come to when an elderly lady can't get a simple hour-long(ish) job working with kids, to sit and be abused?

Violence begets violence, but honestly, violence would be my solution. Not brutal violence, but there are a lot of young adults nowadays that need a good kick up the jacksey!

Just like a dog (or pack thereof) a child will take over a situation if you let them.
To me this isn't bullying, this is basic disrespect, and I blame the parents for spoiling these little brats.

And what the hell good is having a bus monitor if she can't keep these kids in line?
That's like sending a cop that's too scared to stop a robbery.

Hire someone cut out for the job!

A) She is the Monitor. They are the Kids. Where are the rules? Why aren't they being enforced?
B) There is an increasing number of adults who actually afraid of the students. In this area the junk that parents do with their kids in addition to what they let them get away with...I can totally see why an adult would clam up. When you're afraid that a parent might come to the school with a gun, or will at the very least start screaming at you or beating on you, you've already lost to the real bullies, the parents.
C) I swear if those were my kids I would be so unbelievably ashamed of them and myself. I would question every last bit of parenting I had ever done and wonder where I went wrong. Then I would seek counseling on parenting and rip that kid out of that school so ridiculously fast it would make their heads spin around. Find an alternate school with stronger disciplinarian guidelines and then said child would be doing CHORES for that lady for the rest of his young life. That would SO not fly in this house.
D) I was bullied in school and it stuck with me for a very long time. My 20 year reunion is this year and I have zero interest in going and hanging with the people who at times physically hurt me. I have no doubt that some of the bullying that goes on is something that they learn at home.

Honestly what can an adult do now?
if your over 18 that pretty much rules out a smack in face because you can go to jail for assaulting a minor.
Words? you just play into there game.
Giving them a good talking to just doesn't cut it anymore.

The parents need to get there act together. They need to be shamed into properly disciplining there kids.

Maybe a school Youtube channel where all the videos of the kids that do such things can be viewed by all the parents of kids who attend the schools.
Corporal punishment is legal in households in all USA states and almost half of the states allow corporal punishment in schools.

Blue=Corporal punishment prohibited in schools only
Red=Corporal punishment not prohibited

If i was thatold lady i would of slapped that girl as soon as they got to school lol

Wow if I heard that in a bus....

But they probably know her (as she is the bus monitor) And I could very well imagine that they have grown a big hate to that poor elderly woman.

You know kids, if an elderly woman seems 'evil' because she maybe yells and got that annoying tone in their voice, they tend to hate that person very much. (I know it from my school days, haha) I admit, I did hate some of those persons back then, and that lady could look like one of them (no offence).

Kids unfortunately don't know better. And I have done some things against those poor teachers/monitor, which I kinda regret today. But you know what, if that would not have happened in my life, I don't think I could feel the same 'guilt' as I can today.

When you think back at these situations, you begin to realize why that elderly teacher was so annoying.
She has to work with kids all day probably, for many year maybe. And everyday she has to hear on a class/bus/whatever that won't for one single day listen to you.

I would get so stressed. And therefore I see what havoc me and my friends was doing back then, and I actually feel guilty about that.

I'm sure those little pricks will too someday.

this is so sad... I graduated a few years ago and we were bad, but not THAT bad... Younger, they could keep most of us in line, and if that was my bus the driver would have taken us back to the school and the principal would have gotten on the bus and reprimanded us.. Heck, our driver would sit at the tracks for 5 minutes, letting a line form behind her, because we were not completely silent.

in HS, though, my peers made many many teachers cry. For entertainment purposes. We had a young fresh-out-of-college resign after 6 months, an older woman was a year away from retirement and couldn't take it anymore and quit, and a few others were fired because kids straight up made stories.

It's out of hand, really. They know they run the school.. and the more rampant they are, the more they are in control.. Punishment is not enough. You can't blame them--- look at tv, all of the jabs and poking fun and cruelty that pass off as "comedy".... it's all funny.. if they get caught, even funnier, and it teaches the others moreso how to evade watching eyes...

That is outrageous. There needs to be some good kids left in the world to shut these punks up, there needs to be consequences for these actions, they were intentionally insulting her and using profanity, they need to be kicked off the bus, punished, or my personal preference..... ass whoopings all around! Pull the bus over, give them a choice between having their parents called to come pick them up, or face the bus and take their swats one at a time.

I agree with others, it is really the adults fault for not providing consequences. I've never seen behavior like this in my life, not even when I was a kid, because if I had seen it, I would have put a stop to it, and people around me knew that. IF just one decent kid had stood up and told them to knock it off, and been able to back it up, and knew they would not get in trouble for doing the right thing, then this would have never happened.

Physical abuse is out...Verbal abuse is out...hmmm take the dam camera away from him and tell him he can get it back after his parents pick it up and see what he recorded. Acceptable for most adults. If not Kiss my A$$.

A good bit of back lash ripping on is fine. Not verbal abuse just giving it back. They just kept saying she was fat. Good rip (sarcastic). From what I could tell these kids balls haven't even dropped. Bullying is a way to get acceptance, Reverse bullying is a way to bully back but adults should know how to do it a bring it into a teachable moment. "See how it feels moment" then when let off the bus escort the kid off and take him/her self away from peer friends with in the distance of other adult eyes and possibly ears and talk for a minute. This sends a message to all and the conversation can remain private and usually scares the sh*t out of the kid. They can say what ever to their friends but next confrontation will be different.

While all the respectable decent people are going about their lives doing decent respectable things, the idiots are out making babies. This is the result.

I used to get bullied and my parents who are just as rabid as every other human being used to tell me to fight back. I simply couldn't. Hearing the things these people would say to me hurt but knowing that I could easily crush their ridiculous views and in the process end up hurting them was too much for me. As I grew older, you start realizing that the reason these people are hurting you is because they're hurting inside from how rotten they are. It's best to just let them be. The few good people in this world will always be outnumbered, it's just the way it is. But the meek shall truly inherit the earth. Simple as that.

This enrages me, and not solely for the reasons some of you may think.

I'm angry and frustrated because on any given day, I can find at least one thread that bemoans the terrorist state in the school system and how teachers are deliberately sucking the creativity and life out of the children.

Guess what. This is exactly what happens when teachers and schools are hamstringed by the public thru multiple lawsuits.

Now I am NOT claiming that every ATS thread about education has been frivolous; most are horrifying and the teachers discussed need to be fired. There is no doubt that some teachers should never be allowed near a classroom of children. And heaven knows our educational system needs an overhaul.

But seriously, what do people expect? Teachers and schools are no longer able to discipline with any type of effectiveness. I teach first grade, the kids figure out really quickly that the most I can do is send them to silent lunch or make them walk tracks during recess. That's enough for first graders, but by the time they are in high school it simply doesn't work.

Poor woman. She probably undergoes this twice a day, every day. I hope she reports them to the school and they get suspended, but of course then theres the possibility the parents will sue.

if my daughter ever acted like that she would definitely regret it, and that grandma would have her yard work taken care of for the summer. parents are to busy watching their reality shows to pay any attention to their own reality and that their children are growing into monsters. # like this makes me welcome a apocalypse. see it all the time little unsupervised, cruel emotionless bastards doing what ever they want and no one saying a word. RESPECT YOUR ELDERS. with the way our school systems are its n wonder these kids dont comprehend what the older generation have done and sacrificed for us. its a damn shame.

God not only bullied people but murdered them... children were his favorite to abuse.

Maybe these kids have read one to many bible stories.

This is what happens when parents/adults authority has been restricted. This is also what happens when parents fail to be parents.

I witnessed bullying in school, but never gang bullying, and never really bullying on adults/authority figures. The herd/wolf pack bullying here is beyond ridiculous, and I am not sure I would have been as stoic, calm, lenient, etc. if I were in her place.

This made me sad and angry.

Hahahaha they should be identified, relocated to a camp in the middle of nowhere. Released into the sorting area then hunted down like prey.

Im just saying. The personal responsebility to be a good citizen in eyes of the law should begin by age 13. Failure to do so should result in charges against the parents. 18 and up against the young adult.

Lol... But thats only if i ruled the world... Hahahahaha

I was never a bully growing up. I did stand up for a few peers that were being bullied.

I didnt run with a crew, but i held my own. Thanks to my older brother.

Never started a fight either, but finished a few.

Bullies....... Mmmmmm. Yummies!!!! They taste like kitty cats!!

Pretty sure these cretins weren't feasting on the bible before boarding the post, I'd take a wager on that

Why in heavens name is this woman even on the bus, in this job??
I waited for her to grow a pair and at least stand up to these children,
All she had to do is stand up and start writing down names,
bet their parents would like to know how their children behave.
These children need to know their are consequences for such utter disrepect.

Probably volunteer, not a paid position and many retired people would choose to spend time volunteering for kids.

I'm sure the kids involved have been suspended from school and gotten a good talking to over this... I highly doubt they got away with this atrocity without any sort of punishment.
