A good alternative for gun oil in a SHTF time

Where did you hear this? Sounds like a load of crap to me. Really,sniff out gun oil? There are tons of different gun oils and cleaners,with various formulations, and many if not all of these products are also used in other every-day lubricants and cleaners. Those dogs would straight up loose their # in any common garage. Don't think I'll bother grinding any glass to brush on my baseboards jsut yet!

Also when convicts were escaping from chain gangs, they would use pepper to stall dogs, POWs in WWII used to say cayenne pepper was best, either way, its not about "The Dogs" its about finding a good replacement for gun oil in a SHTF type world.
