Tripoli, 7 June (AKI) - Web sites sympathetic to the insurgency against Libya's transitional government has called for celebrations to mark what would have been Muammar Gaddafi's 70th birthday.
"We offer to organize the Leader’s birthday celebration," said the pro-Gaddafi Libya Free Press web site. "Gaddafi always is a very unfavourable figure for world political elite – a bright, independent and fantastically popular person.''
The web site says the late dictator was born on 7 June 1942.
Gaddafi was killed in his native city of Sirte on 20 October by fighters that toppled his rule which lasted more than forty years.
