can't see threads or posts. the dark overlay at the top is light grey

Tried refreshing my page a LOT but every single page here has this light greay at the top of every post that covers almost to the end unless someone posts a lot. I have to 'select all' to read stuff.

Is this happening to any one else?

Yeah it's only you. Have you tried using other browser? Also, attaching a screenshot might help, I don't think I understand exactly how you are seeing the pages.
