So that was fun. Thought I would post the pics I took to share with everyone. Not the best equipment, and I learned real quick it's not easy taking photos of a big burning ball of gas.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I put my hand over my phone like I was staring at the real sun.

Those are some really cool pics btw. I watched the eclipse from the Pismo Beach dunes in California. I thought sunglasses would've been enough, but my nephew brought some photo negative and we put 4 together and looked at the sun through those. It was very humbling.

Your title is wrong you have an annular eclipse not a total eclipse but the pictures are still good

Shouldn't the Halo be a lot less distinct in an eclipse ?
Has the moon receded in its orbit ?

great shot! you really nailed it on the perfectly centered one. good stuff!
wish i had the filters to have been able to shoot it. i had rented a really nice telephoto lens last week but had to return it.

nice shots man...

The perfect annular ring and especially the one in twilight... nice color in that photo.
That was definitely the most impressive part of the eclipse for me was the spooky glow
