Unavoidable nostalgic memories of better times. I hope you enjoy it !

Uyuni is known worldwide for its giant white extecion lithium salt and surrounded by mountains, deserts, lakes and incredible flora ...

This interesting train cemetery is located about 30 min walk (2 Km) south of the train station.

The junkyard has dozens of old steam locomotives and many wrecked train cars from accidents and derailments (which are frequent in Bolivia).

Local unmarried couples use the old train cars to make out secretly.

Amazing video here (sorry no youtube) : vimeo.com...

This desolate and full of old railway machinery or steam stricken from the United States and the United Kingdom, we are transported back to Uyuni, where in the early twentieth century, the mining boom hastened the arrival of railroads in Bolivia. Precisely in that little town where lay the first line of railway, which connected with Antofagasta to Uyuni in the year 1899.

I am sure these would be valuable to collectors. Sad that they are rotting.
