Do Not Eat Coleslaw - Changed my mind

Topic started on 29-9-2004 @ 03:23 PM by sen5e

After some more research, coleslaw IS NOT good for the body.

It belongs in the same category as raw mushrooms. NOT HEALTHY.

Cooked cabbage & cooked mushrooms are ok.

Actually mushrooms are neither healthy nor bad for you (unless your eating the poisionous or hallucinogeic types) they are basically devoid of any nutritional value what so ever. Might add some flavor to a dish, but thats about it hence why many survivalist experts point out not to waste time with them when you need a sustaining food.

An alternative view.

1. Raw vegetables have far more nutritional value than cooked vegetables.
2. Mushrooms contain essential trace elemsnts and vitamins.
3. There is nothing wrong with coleslaw except the dressing.
4. The only complete food you could survive on in the wild for the term of your natural life, in the absence of anything else, is honey.
5. A good American diet should contain at least one portion of each of the basic five food groups in as many meals as possible:
a. McDonalds
b. Burger King
c. Pizza Hut
d. KFC
e. Subway.

Some of that was true. Have some pumpkin.

You know as well as I do that not only "Americans" eat that garbage. When travelling to countries outside the US, walk by a McDonalds window and peer inside...

I love raw mushrooms. I always have done, ever since I was a kid. Of course you have to make sure they're clean and have no bugs or insectisides hanging around, but other than that, they're great.

This just in....

French fries and big macs are bad for you and an apple a day will keep the doctor away...

BTW...I hate and despise coleslaw...I live in the south....it's hell...

I base this on observing my own health. Of course it might not apply to someone else which I neglected to point out in my enthusiasm.

Some people blindly follow recommendations based on what they read instead of what they feel. I wouldn't continue eating any food if it was making me feel ill. That's common sense.

But some people ignore what their body is feeling because some medical article says its good for them. Some people are really stupid.
