I always find myself having to click on the Youtube link just so I can do this, thus leaving the site, or maybe I am blind and not seeing it!

I would assume that would be a function on the youtube video, not one controlled by ATS.

But, you know what they say about assumptions.

I don't think it's there, or I am blind as well. If you have a middle mouse button, use that to click on the youtube link under the window, that will open it up in a new tab, while not moving where you were in a thread. That's the best solution I have been able to come up with so far. It might be a youtube limitation, to drive more traffic there.

My understanding is we have no control over that.

The inbed code used to place YT vids are of YT's design.

You always have to go directly to YT for full screens, normally as far as I know.

Nope.

YouTube Developer Guide

allowfullscreen="true"

As a web developer I have implemented embedded Youtube solutions many times and there is nothing stopping you having the fullscreen button.

Well then, allow me to send this thread to the masters and see if we can't get this done.

Being able to search for YT ID's would also eradicate alot of multiple posts

Ex: search for "F4HcsGItUyU", would give this post, among others:
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Even if it is true, and I have no reason to disbelieve you, I have never seen this in practice at any site!

Maybe it is a permission granted by the video uploader and/or owner? For example, some videos cannot be embedded on any site because the user has disabled that option. I have also noticed some videos cannot be commented on if the user disables that function.

Torrentfreak embeds videos with the full-screen option

torrentfreak.com...

Torrentfreaks embed code:

<iframe width="525" height="297" "http://www.youtube.com/embed/8CvRSZxqk_I?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></

ATS embed code

<div id="exvid" align="center">
<object width="425" height="350">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HiI-a7ZooO8">
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
<embed "http://www.youtube.com/v/HiI-a7ZooO8" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></object>
<br><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiI-a7ZooO8" target="_new" class="smalltxt"><b>YouTube Link</b></a></div>

To get the fullscreen option ATS needs something like

<div id="exvid" align="center">
<object width="425" height="350">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HiI-a7ZooO8?version=2&fs=1">
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true">
<embed "http://www.youtube.com/v/HiI-a7ZooO8?version=2&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">
</object>
<br><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiI-a7ZooO8" target="_new" class="smalltxt"><b>YouTube Link</b></a></div>

Just need to add "?version=2&fs=1" onto the youtube url
and include <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"> in the object element
and allowfullscreen="true" in the embed element

Tested in my browser

Now this is odd, because the fullscreen button is there, it just doesn't work anymore.
Anymore, as in, it used to work just fine, seems to me that YT wants more traffic to their site, and they disabled it.

It sucks.
