Slightly embarrassing moment for former Obama adviser Van Jones.

In an interview with allhiphop.com, the former Green Energy Czar tried to reference the Trayvon Martin shooting to condemn “stand your ground” laws. The only problem is, he botched Martin’s name.

Jones: “This group called ALEC* is down the butter. This awful group that has been passing these evil laws that take the vote away from black people, that attack immigrants and the whole Trayvon Williams thing, the stand your ground, kill at will law, all that came from the same group…”

[Interrupting] Interviewer: “The murder?”

Jones: “Yea, Trayvon.”

Interviewer: “Martin.”

Jones then attempted to recover from the sensitive misstep by cracking an equally awkward joke.

Jones: (Laughing) “Two! They killed two Trayvons!”

It's Martin as far as I am aware.

I never saw it as Williams until it was brought to my attention.

Yeah thats what I saw too, thats why I looked them both up to see if there was at any time someone who had confused the two. But you are right, there are a lot more links and storied using Williams. I can see this one growing legs and sprinting a bit unless someone else knows why there is such a mixup.

The guy I referred to might just be one of the many who get it wrong... it is odd, I hadn't noticed it at all before your thread, either...

Anyone else seen his name as Williams?

It was brought up because, i know its sounds crazy. But this is a place for such things.

Someone has changed events in the past and people have resudual memories of such past.

like people that are supposed to be dead and the like.
