I suggest instead of automating a script message for each time somebody makes an edit in their post, rather have an automated script message that lists a single time of the last edit made.

For example:

Last edited 06/04/2012 at 3:45pm. (Reason: fixed spelling and grammer).

instead of

Edited: (no reason given)
Edited: (fixed spelling)
Edited: (fixed grammer)
Edited: (no reason given)

It's annoying having to read multiple edit tags in other people's replies and needing to edit my own tags each time I have made more than one change.

Yes that's what I do as well. But it seems kind of ironic that you need to do such a thing, doesn't it?

I don't think I've ever submitted a post, I didn't then immediately edit later for spelling or grammar. I'd hate to have to point that out to the world in the tag each time.

I still would like the option to lie to myself about my writing skills.

Yes, yes she does. It can be maddening at times. If fact it makes me scared to talk on the phone or Skype because I wouldn't have the trail of edits to know what I should have heard.

But enough teasing GEL.

Edits are par for the course especially when you look back and wish to refine exactly what you said so that is better understood. Personally, I hate it when I copy and paste the edit note when I write out a PM. And yes that has happened a couple times.
