When did the American Empire experience the height of its power?

I know now that we are on its heyday but some people I know stated that its back on the 90s while other says its the 1980s.. The question is when did America as an empire experience its turning point before it started crumblling piece by piece? I mean many civilizations such as the Roman Empire, British Empire and others experience their own height of its power before they fall

In technical terms and numbers? It'd have to be the 1980's. The U.S. was deliberately pushed to the highest point possible in the fear of all out war with the Soviet Union...and when that threat dropped, so did the whole Empire that was built to support that fight. We've kinda been lost and flopping around for a purpose in the world since.

Just my opinion.

I would say in the late 40's - early 50's.

We were on top of the world and doing well after the war.

The family unit was strong, most people were working and doing very well and we were respected by most other countries.

The American dream was still something you could achieve.

After that things started going downhill fast.

It wasn't perfect and there was still some problems then also but nothing like later years.
