She's only 65 meters in size, but she is going to be a close one.

No doom and gloom. They have her as a 9, which means she's unpredictable, but considering her size I wouldn't worry about her.

Just posting for you peeps with a great telescope, maybe you will get a glimpse!

Corect if Im wrong, this is the asteroid that has had many threads created about it and its impact with the Earth? If so, they have now said it will barely miss our planet? Which is it, impact or miss?

Condition code 9 doesn't really mean "unpredictable". It means that the orbit is not well enough established to ensure that the object will be "recoverable" at a later date.

The close approach data shows a "nominal distance" (expected) of 158,992.576 miles, a minimum of 88,727.104 miles, and a maximum of 649,892.9 miles miles. Those numbers will be refined as more observations are made.

No possibility of impact.

Still no doom to add...but looks like so far April 2nd is the closest approach.

I know this is a small rock but wanted to ask everyone to keep in mind that the condition code is still high. While I think it may simply burn up if it does come in there is still a change it could do some damage if it doesn't burn up.

Once again, the condition code does not mean the orbit is unpredictable.
As expected, the close approach data is becoming more refined with more observations.
Nominal distance has been reduced slightly.
Maximum distance has been reduced substantially.
Minimum distance has been increased substantially.

It will not impact Earth. It will miss by 142,000 miles.

No. That was probably a contrail from a conventional aircraft.

The updated footage looks like a fireball class meteor to me.

I was unsure before, because some of the footage resembled aircraft contrails more than a meteor train/trail, but this footage looks genuine to me.

Edit to add - I stand by my previous reply to MaKaElectric: No, small asteroids don't usually "hit" our planet. Our atmosphere is very good at stopping them. Most of them break up tens of km above the ground, and any surviving bits reach the ground traveling at terminal velocity.

It also was likely not related to 2012 EG5. We have objects this size hitting our atmosphere all the time, and the all have unique orbits. Apart from them all originating from the asteroid belt, there is probably nothing to connect these two separate events/objects.
