Pennsylvania Democrats say ‘misguided’ voter ID law wastes $11 million

The Democratic Party of Pennsylvania made the statement.

They are condemning the law.

They (as are other State's Democratic leaders) are blaming Republicans for
ignoring more important issues !!

They seem to be attempting to somehow downplay
efforts that do not fit (and may even threaten) their agendas.

The Democratic Party of Pennsylvania condemned a voter ID law passed by the state legislature on Wednesday as a waste of taxpayer money.

“At a time when we need to focus on creating jobs and getting the economy back on track, Pennsylvania Republicans have spent significant time trying to disenfranchise voters at a cost of $11 million to taxpayers,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chairman Jim Burn. “Today, Republicans passed this misguided legislation. It is an unnecessary and costly piece of legislation that is truly a solution a search of a problem.

The law requires voters in the state to present a photo ID when they cast ballots in federal, state and local elections. ....

Republicans claim voter ID laws are necessary to prevent widespread voter fraud

Perhaps the Democrats really mean to say is:

"It will now cost us $11 million more than previously anticipated
to complete our voter fraud quotas" !!

Nice catch for this. They've absolutely got to be kidding with this. Oh... It hit me right away, but took a second to find.

The Politicians in PA are raising cain over 11 million dollars to institute a no-nonsense requirement to simply show you are you before exercising the most important thing a citizen in our system CAN do. The fact it's corrupted is NO excuse to simply stand back, throw our hands up and ignore things while they just keep getting worse...but where were the politicians for this??? $11 Million has them all ht and bothered?

150 Million Dollar Airport to service a handful of people in PA

Apparently, when it's one of their OWN per projects, many times the amount involved for the voter ID issue is just fine and in fact, bragged about! It's called bringing home the pork, isn't it?? Oh but it's FAR FAR too much to spend to insure integrity in at least a part of our election system.

In 2008 and 2010, there were a total of 11 convictions for voter fraud in Pennsylvania. Eight of those convictions were for a single person, who tried to misrepresent himself multiple times at different polling places during the 2008 election, according to the commission’s statistics.

the bill would require the state to provide a photo ID card to anyone who did not have one for free

So a total of four persons who committed voter fraud should require the state to pay $11 million to provide free photo ID to those that don't have photo ID? Who exactly is misguided?

The whole thing stupid all the way around.

For one ID won't stop fraud.

For another politicians don't care about spent money in any real responsible way. To them it only matters when they can score points for their team. Pretending to be flustered over $11, $11 million or $11 trillion is all nonsense. Reckless expenditure of capital goes with the job regardless of party affiliation.
