Hmmm, I think I agree with you there. I've always told people who are dissatisfied with the system to get into the system and change it from within. Without being corrupted in the process.

Is that about right?

Can that not be true of all of us? She only told you that because of her indoctrination into how the world is. Very few have been exposed to what the world could be and even fewer believe in it's possible attainment.

I choose to believe otherwise. Years ago I preached against getting rid of ALL banks, including the FED. I was called stupid. I still hold to that belief. Funny, more and more see what I saw back then. There is always another way no matter the path chosen.

My mother told me the same thing.

I said, "Why vote. It doesn't count anyway. They decide who they want they just make us think we choose." circa 1989

She said, "Well then, if you don't like it then change it."

I have been pursing that goal ever since.

I know this may sound selfish, but my goal now is to get home, as debt-free as possible and help take care of my parents as they're getting quite old and not long for this world, and my sister and her husband who has cancer.

By July I think that I may just realize that goal.

I don't like being beholden to anybody and the idea of anyone beholden to me is repulsive. I do it because I choose too. That is what I tell anybody I help.

I guess I have a "Pay it forward" mentality. Which I find curious as I used to be quite the gung-ho Soldier.

Not sure how that is selfish. It sounds rather selfless to me. Admirable that you have learned from your past experiences and become the caring individual that you seem to be.

"Pay it forward"
Imagine if we all lived that way? No one would do without. Quite a simple concept really. It is only our current belief system that makes it seem outrageous.I by no means imply current socialism/communism thought. Only that if we CHOSE to give no one would go hungry or cold......etc.

Thank you for joining this thread. I never seek SnF. I only come here to read and occasionally provoke deep thought. This exchange has been refreshing. I will still continue to post thoughts and videos in this thread

When I say "selfish", it is because I will be removing myself from others who I may be able to help by concentrating on my family.

As sad as it sounds, once my parents have passed and the Bro-in-Law has either recovered or passed I can revert.

But they are my priority at the moment.

Not a big S&F seeker either, but I'll give ya them as you've gone more in depth into your thoughts than many do here. Thanks.

Time to hit the hay in a bit. Good conversation.

There are people, perhaps forces, in this world that seek to control you by causing you to feel hate towards another for being different. They want you to focus on that hatred. If they can compound enemies for you they will.

Just because someone disagrees with someone else on issues doesn't mean they hate that person. It is that person's perception of reality. Just like for us christians, jews, buddhists, hindu, athests or muslims who disagree with others and eachother.

Not everyone is going to see eye to eye. War happenes because people think and feel differently which is a part of the human condition, otherwise we'd all be mindless and soulless machines marching to the beat of a hivemind like a troop of pissants or bees.

I think what the OP is referring to is how as long as we each have our own perception of things and do not see eye to eye we will constantly be at odds with each other.

So it would take one of two things to happen......either we all learn to perceive everything the same.......

Or

We learn that our perceptions often cause conflict and we have to learn to see past our own perceptions and see the other persons point of view (perception) if we are to become united as humans.

At least that is what I got out of it. I hope I did not misunderstand OP.

Trying too see other peoples points of view is something I do all the time......I am always asking why or how people think and feel the way they do.

To the OP:

there is a reason you will not get many people on this thread, most people are happy arguing their point of view, it feeds their egos, they get a sick thrill from "proving others wrong" and showing everyone how "right" they are.....why discuss when they can argue? Arguing is so much more gratifying to the ego.

I never compared disagreement with hate.

I agree that people will not always see eye to eye. War happens for profit/gain. It begins with "leaders". If someone enlisted your help to go kill a group of people simply because they "think and feel differently" would you do it? Also, please clarify. Are you suggesting that without war we would all be mindless and soulless machines? I feel certain you meant that statement in another way reflecting the human "condition" in order to rationalize it but, that seems a bit extreme.

Truly it is not a matter of being at odds with each other. Competition is one of the greatest motivators humanity has.

We learn that our perceptions often cause conflict and we have to learn to see past our own perceptions and see the other persons point of view (perception) if we are to become united as humans.

There you have it.
