E.G. White, eh? She might just be. I'm ex-SDA, and still on the fence about her being a prophetess or not.
She predicted women would eventually end up wearing pants (back in the day when a woman would be thrown into prison for "cross-dressing") as being a more practical type of clothing, something she was violently attacked and ridiculed for saying.
Time has proven her to have been right.

Didn't she also claim that the Parusia would be in 1843, as laid out by Miller?

That pant prediction doesn't seem all that impressive, to be honest.

She was just one of the many people who bought into the theory at the time and later on had a vision that despite the prior disappointment, people should still look forward to a future event.

A raging controversy in the SDA church concerns her use of secular sources for her books. The faithful had assumed that she got it all direct from God. Now they wonder if her use of sources disqualifies her as a prophet. She herself once said, "If you had read your Bibles, you wouldn't need me."
