Does anyone really believe that SOPA is dead?

Politics as usual, controversial Bills will be tabled until AFTER the election.

You know that 3 of the 4 GOP candidates would sign it. You also know that Obama would sign it. What, he'll sign the NDAA and maintain "kill lists" but wont sign SOPA?

In-case you havent figured it out yet, anyone EXCEPT Ron Paul will sign SOPA or SOPA type legislation into law.

He is the only one who has introduced legislation, let alone spoken out against, the Patriot Act, the TSA and their VIPER teams, the NDAA, citizen assassinations, torture and the rest of it.

Please take some time to understand this man and his ideals. He is committed to defending and restoring our rights, whats left of them.

Their going to do whatever they want anyways so even if it didn't get signed it wont matter.

I think we all know damn well the internet censorship agenda is far from dead. Hopefully people will take this time to gather info they think they made need in the future. Make hay while the sun shines, no? Also maybe some, like me, will be learning more about putting our own networks together via wireless, ham radio, old skool BBS etc. The net will never be shut down by TPTB, because of its roots. It may even not be much restricted in the average users day to day routine. But most US net users are so addicted to social networks, porn, games etc, that it serves as a drug inspiring complacence. And it provides a wealth of data to be mined so I doubt they want to cut off a data source. Only time shall tell, but this grasshopper is in gather mode just in case.

They've authored their laws, they've made their payoffs, they've given their wish-list to Santa, and god----mit, they will HAVE their will imposed upon the unruly masses! Dead!? All we've done is made them angry....

They're going to do what they did here in Canada. Reframe the bill in the context of stopping child pornography. If you oppose it, you're siding with the child pornographers. Which is really just the terrorist spiel all over again. If you don't do this, the terrorists have won!

Now I totally agree that piracy and streaming of live pay per view events such as mma, wrestling, ect should be unlawful and dealt with as such. This is how these companies make most of their money But from what I'm seeing they're already operating as if SOPA was passed. Perfect example was the Super Bowl. I'm not sure if anyone else remembers but there were several articles stating that something like 16 sites were shut down (coming off the top of my head) under the guile that the big game was going to be affected from live streaming. Last I checked the Super Bowl made their money off the commercials and advertising, Point is that they operated with the perception that they were protecting Americas biggest game. Once again it's not what they're doing now, it's how far will they go and where will it end.

They may have shelved SOPA but Obama already signed off on ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting
Trade Agreement). ACTA's not national but international. It's worse than SOPA.
Now even a foreign government can shut down your website if it violates their copyright
laws. I doubt that SOPA matters one bit to TPTB now since they've already managed to put
their agenda in motion with ACTA.
