My worry is for the next one in the area if this is a foreshock.

This is not a medium sized earthquake(teleseismic moment magnitude) and that area is a very active one.

it was 5.8 , estimated to be higher but turned out less than 6

even a 5.8 can cause extensive damage to buildings and such... but i hope it did not ..

Yes you are right could cause extended damage,but fortunately this one was offshore and the depth was in in line with the magnitude ,as as not to cause tsunami or to be hardly felt inland.
