It seems even the most staunch ally of America isnt immune to the meddling of the CIA in its internal politics
"There is profoundly increasing evidence that foreign espionage and intelligence activities are being practised in Australia on a wide scale… I believe the evidence is so grave and so alarming in its implications that it demands the fullest explanation. The deception over the CIA and the activities of foreign installations on our soil… are an onslaught on Australia's sovereignty."

The above quote was by Gough Witlam to the Australian Parliment in 1977
So the CIA dosnt just intwine itself into the politics of countries that are considered enemies of America but also its supposed staunchest allies
They were also instrumental in the first and only dissmissal of an Australian PM
The CIA was involved in further activities designed to undermine the Whitlam Government. In July 1975 the Australian media reported that the Mercantile Bank and Trust Company, based in the Bahamas, had issued a letter seeking $4,267,365,000 "for and on behalf of the Government of Australia." The bank did not claim to be acting with the approval of the Australian Government and cabinet ministers had never heard of it. But the implication was enough to fill the newspapers with another "scandal". Much later, an ASIO officer was to publicly state: "some of the documents which helped discredit the Labor Government in its last year in office were forgeries planted by the CIA."

And that was exactly what happened. On November 11th, the day Whitlam was to inform Parliament fully about the CIA and American bases in Australia, he was summoned by Kerr from Parliament House. Without warning, Kerr dismissed Whitlam as Prime Minister, dissolved both houses of Parliament and appointed Malcolm Fraser, leader of the Liberal Party, to head an interim government until new elections could be held in December. An unelected official (whose position was traditionally only that of a figurehead representative of the Queen of England) had, in one arbitrary and unconstitutional act, overthrown a legitimate and democratically elected government.

Amazing revelations in the following link that tie the CIA into bribery/drugs and the eventual overthrow of a democratically elected govt of a nation that is one of Americas staunchest allies,i can see why Ron Paul wants to dismantle the CIA it is an insidious evil organisation

I've been thinking about this a lot recently.

I personally think that Gillard is a shill/puppet, she isnt even born here and watching her during obamas speech recently made me sick, she just sat there nodding her obedient head. Nice work on the thread, great whitlam quote, we need to get Rudd back, he went after the miners and was removed, we need to get him back

Not the CIA on it's own, they were a useless government but you are right when a so called figurehead dismissed the government. To be honest the current government is as useless as goths government. I think certain agendas arise here first. If this next war goes off Australia will be right next to the yanks. But I don't think the average aussie will care as most of us know we have nothing against Iran, nothing against Syria man we even love the Chinese as they are our best trading partners. They can't make a war if no one picks up gun to fight people we have nothing against. The awakened people know it's the dark cabals last card. But you need the average person to wake up and research themselves

Yes and reading through the entire link i was blown away by just how deep the corruption went it was mind boggling

The American Christopher Boyce described CIA covert operations in Australia aimed at bringing down the labour govt of Gough Witlam. Boyce was sentenced to 40 years of solitary confinement for his refusal to stay silent on the matter
This man is a true American hero,Ive got a lot of time for America ,the American people and the constitution its a wonderful document but this sucks so hard you could get a frozen chicken through a garden hose

Interesting link

It seems even the most staunch ally of America isnt immune to the meddling of the CIA in its internal politics...

It also seems that it's alive and well within our current Government.

We have our resident CIA mole, Senator Mark Arbib upholding the time honoured tradition of providing a conduit of information to his U.S counter-parts, as exposed by Wikileaks.
The right wing Labor powerbroker who played a key role in the removal of Kevin Rudd as Prime Minister has, since at least 2006, provided insider commentary to embassy officials about the Labor Party and the federal government.

It gives me a whole new outlook on the dissmissal of the whitlam govt, the way it was portrayed to the public was that he was a lunatic who was out to end the Australian way of life when in fact he had a firm grasp on what was happening with foreign intelligence organisations infiltrating and co-ercing govt policy and for that they publicy humiliated him and toppled his govt

If you think about it the spineless Australian govt is probaly terrified of being destroyed after what happened to whitlam,it was a demonstration for what will happen if they cross the line on American foreign policy this whole mess really needs to be cleaned up and we need to go back to Government for the people by the people
I guess the time is fast approaching for the tar and feathers

Yeah the meddling is still going strong and shows no sign of abating unless the people take a stand,as for that bottom feeding maggot Arbib he should have been sacked the moment that revelation hit the headlines, that to me shows the govt isnt calling the shots just following orders its disgusting that Australia fawns over America and this is how we get repaid
The only ones that know the CIAs long term agenda is the CIA
