Gingrich is holding a hastily announced press conference tonight after the Nevada caucuses, where Mitt Romney looks to win a big victory. The former speaker of the house has no plans to visit with voters fueling questions of his future in the race. Gingrich is getting pummeled by main stream Republicans over his grandiose and sometimes awkward proposals such as a moon base and his idea of having kids become school janitors.

Will Newt Gingrich announce he’s dropping out of the 2012 Presidential race at tonight’s press conference at The Venetian Casino, Hotel, and Resort in Las Vegas? Connecting the will Newt Gingrich drop out dots:

Gingrich was also blindsided by Donald Trumps endorsement of Romney.

The Trump endorsement might not have been so bad if Gingrich hadn't said this morning that he was getting the Donald's nod.

LAS VEGAS (Reuters) - With a huge lead in polls, Republican front-runner Mitt Romney appeared poised for an easy win in Nevada on Saturday that would put him in firm command of the party's see-sawing presidential nominating race.

One would hope so, fancy have a newt as president.
Nearly as bad as having a dole or a gore as you could have had.
But then a mitt is nearly as bad?

DON'T TEASE US LIKE THAT!
You'll get our hopes up!
Seriously though .. I highly doubt he'd drop out until at last Super Tuesday.

If Romney wins though, it's almost guaranteed to be 4 more years of Obama. Obama IS Romney on the issues, depending on the hour of the day (
) and the Obama election machine coupled with the main stream media will engage in nuclear warfare against Romney. The establishment and the elites know Obama will do their bidding as he's shown to do.

If Romney wins = four more years of Obama. If Newt wins = four more years of Obama.
It doesn't matter which. They are all pretty much the same ... just the letter after their name changes .. D or R

This guys take on the situation is that Gingrich is not dropping out and he's going to announce his new contract with America. Yea, if so, great timing on that one Newt, at 11 pm on the Saturday night before the Super Bowl.

I don't think so!

Don't forget, Ron Paul is still in it and he is the only other candidate other than Romney that can participate fully in the GOP nomination for each state. Also there is the new Green Party with Rosanne as the candidate. She actually makes quite a bit of sense with her topics.

I don't understand why he has any support from anyone.

The best thing he did that actually helped people was that he lobbied (on behalf of big pharma and health insurance companies) to get Medicare Part D (prescription drugs) passed into law....unfortunately that is the main reason why medicare is in financial trouble as Big Pharma can charge Uncle Sam whatever they want for their pills.

It didn't have to be done that way...but it was...it was passed by both Reps and Dems during Bush.

That is the main issue that needs fixing with medicare...the whole system doesn't need to be scrapped like the GOP wants to do. We need Medicare and SS.

Romney has the full backing of Wall Street, therefore he essentially has unlimited money. Ron Paul has neither....and he is completely with odds with mainstream conservative foreign policy...amongst many other things.

Ron Paul has no chance.

Frankly, the moon base thing was the one thing I thought was a fairly interesting thing to bring up...

Will newt get out? hmm..maybe...and makes you wonder if ron paul would get his audience.

Newt won't get out. His ego won't let him

For the sake of the future of America, lets hope that this bum drops out and then LEAVES the country. No, leave the PLANET would be better.

The guy is a bum who is looking to get his political-limelight at screwing the country and the American middle-class over like your typical CONservative republicans always do.

But even with him gone, there is still the other TURD-SANDWICH left... called Romney.

Newt cannot drop out just yet, he must stay in for a bit to desabilize the race for Dr.Paul.
