www.google.com

Wu-Tang didn’t just singing about the gang banging lifestyle, they lived it. A newly unsealed 94-page FBI file on Russell Jones, better known as Ol' Dirty Bastard, shows that the Clan was involved with gunrunning, drug dealing, gangs, money laundering and even murder. Yes, murder.

Posted by blogger Rich Jones the files show that the Feds believe one of the rappers was responsible for the shooting of Robert “Pooh” Johnson in 1997. They are also thought have been involved in activities with the

Don't forget that RZA also wanted to be a superhero and had purchased body armor as well as an armored SUV. I believe he stated that he actually did patrol his neighborhood but eventually lost the armor to a shady friend somehow. Of course ODB was an epic crackhead, too bad he couldn't reduce his intake a bit after getting out of prison, he might still be spouting incoherent lyrics. I saw his son on tour with Wu Tang last year, glad they are still around, Ghostface is an incredible mc!

The guys have been rumoured to be associated with organised crime for years. Not just the nasty side of street crime, but the higher-end of Mafia affiliation with the Gambino family.

Ol Dirty was probably too much of a liability for any serious men to trust.

The files might be interesting but the Wu Tang will remain the outstanding, influential hiphop outfit of all time.

i had no clue
i always just thought it was just rap music, and those were just lyrics, not all of them being real or true.

Dang. That's a shame.

Still, it doesn't make it any less fun to come up with one's own Wu-Tang name with the Wu Name Generator.

Mine's "Ol` Mucky Terrahawk."

It's an interesting story isn't it!

The origional files are here link on the blog of the man that got the files released.

As you can imagine a heck of a lot of it is censored and blanked out.

He also lists a very interesting web site that anyone can use to submit their own freedom of information requests

I totally got 'half-cut skeleton' and aaron rodgers is 'eight-legged dj' ! Also, I always believed RZA to be the founder since he was the one making the beats and loving the old kung fu movies, it is difficult to believe ODB could mastermind anything being so cracked out.

Hell yeah they were all criminals. The Rebel INS was a convicted gun runner and he raps about it. I never doubted that any of those dudes rapped about real life and it looks like I was right.

I love the Wu and always will, they are real. Unlike more than half the gangsta wannabes nowadays.

I typed my son Brandons name in the generator and his name was flippant she-creature

Wu-Tang was great hip hop. Golden Era. I'm not surprised that these guys were the real deal. On that note, I don't doubt the veracity of N.W.A.'s claims either.
