Toutatis, a small city sized asterioid (2.9 miles long / 1.5 miles wide), is going to come within a million miles (about 4 times as far as the moon) of Earth very soon (Sept 29th will be it's closest). If you live in the southern hemisphere you'll be able to see it quite easily, but I'm not sure if those of us in the north will be able to see it at night or not. However, you'll need at least binoculars to be able to see it (won't be visible to the naked eye).

Go model it up in Celestia and watch it's path across Earth's orbit (along with quite a few other asteriods). Neat stuff!
