Oh, someone please tell me they've got an article from 2007/2008 saying exactly the opposite just like the rest of the media...

EDIT:
OK, I'll apologize and give props to Matt. That was a surprisingly good read and I appreciate him for writing it to point these (sad) truths out. My apologies, Rolling Stone. Well played.

And I'd love to see footage of that interview with the drug czar.
Which one was it?

2007 article.......

As Rolling Stone’s chief political reporter, Matt Taibbi's predecessors include the likes of journalistic giants Hunter S. Thompson and P.J. O'Rourke. Taibbi's 2004 campaign journal Spanking the Donkey cemented his status as an incisive, irreverent, zero-bull# reporter. In one memorable scene, Taibbi dropped acid then interviewed the former chief of the Office of National Drug Policy—while wearing a Viking helmet.

An Interview With Matt Taibbi Rolling Stone's controversial chief political reporter on Campaign 2008, following Hunter S. Thompson, and his new book
