If you could ask the Government anything what would it be?

The op has asked a valid question and after careful thought, there is more than one question that I would ask, but the primary one would be:

Why do you covet the position that you now hold?

It is apparent that those in government covet being in that position and tend to want to be there, often for years.

After swearing to God to uphold the Constitution, why do you spend every future moment from then on, plotting and working so hard to destroy it, or clearly act in all manners to not uphold your vow?

But.....isn't that the point?

We elect a government and a leader to a set term in office after liking the cut of their gib during the election campaign and waiting to see which of their policies they're allowed to implement right away, which would take more time to introduce and which would be impossible given a situation.

As the term goes on, they hope the public still likes them enough to elect them for another term to allow them to finish implementing the policies which have taken a little longer than expected to set in stone.

That's why we in the UK have elections every 5 years and don't have a set term for a leader before pushing him or her out of office like the US with their 8 year, 2 term limit per President.

Otherwise, none of the pre-election promises would be implemented in such a short term due to things in life not being so easy or ideal. A certain law may take two years to pass through as legislation for example thanks to many different factors.

Unless you're a Labour or Liberal Democrat leader in which case either your party gets elected based on lies or people stupidly vote for you because they fall for idiotic policies that would never work in the real world.

Having read the speeches of those past, the best that could be stated about the earlier Politian’s, is that they did not really want the position. They loathed it, but did the job then looked to get out of office. As has been seen recently, those that make a career out of politics, tend to get more into the dirty side of such, often trying to play by rules that don’t apply to everyone. They slowly get corrupt and dishonest and bad for the government and the country in general. They covet the position, and that should not be, rather it should go back, give the job to those who can do the job, but don’t want it, that way they will vacate it for the next person who gets into that position.

Some interesting questions here. But if you only had one question you could ask what would it be? Something you have been dying to know the truth about?
