Your thread was yet another victim of derailing efforts, proob4. I found it interesting food for thought and enjoyed giving it a "good think". Thanks and don't let detractors, who don't have the good manners to move on, upset you.

The debate about FEMA camps, their authenticity and preparatory status has been fodder for discussion for some time now. Let's hope that it remains just that - conjecture and speculation.

Thanks for an interesting OP.

I had the same type of responses in my last thread. Whatever happened to stating your opinion and then moving along? If you don't like the topic then choose another one. Have some respect!

I am not saying whether or not I think the map is real - but it is something to think about. It says there is a FEMA "detention center" within a 45 minute drive from my house. Yikes. Never knew that before. Could it be a hoax? Sure. But I'm sure the OP is not trying to deceive anyone. He (or she) is just posting something that he (or she) found.

U.S. Army looking to recruit Internment / Resettlement Specialist (31E)
This is from the U.S. Army official site. Anyone still think Fema camps are a joke or hoax?

Internment/Resettlement (I/R) Specialists in the Army are primarily responsible for day-to-day operations in a military confinement/correctional facility or detention/internment facility. I/R Specialists provide rehabilitative, health, welfare, and security to U.S. military prisoners within a confinement or correctional facility; conduct inspections; prepare written reports; and coordinate activities of prisoners/internees and staff personnel.

I looked on Google Map for the nearest one, somewhere near Alamagordo. I zoomed in on the green marker, switched to "Satellite," and found only sagebrush, not even a road. Isn't it nice to know that these camps are not in such bleak locales?

Looks like you guys will all be catered for when the time comes. I'm pretty sure we don't have the same kind of thing in the UK. Well not as far as know, I'm not sure we would be capable of organising such an operation these days.

Anyway have fun and remember, dont go in the showers.

lol the army is looking for a prison guard.

So what?

All this is proof of, is that you haven't a clue and that the army has prisoners that need guarding.

Time to step back mate and have a think about it all.

After checking out the camp "supposedly" in Buffalo NY. I zoomed in and low and behold it's at sombodies house in a wealthy southern suburb. Guess we will be a bit crowded in this guy's house. It doesn't look that big. We'd probably be able to get more people in at the country club down the road. Whoo Hoo a FEMA camp with a golf coarse. However certian "types" will not be admitted.

Maybe its time to look at it from another perspective, not looking for fema detention centers but safe harbors for natural disasters. Face it, if something like San Andreas or New madras blows, there are going to be millions of displaced people in need of shelter and the basics of survival.

It is time to start locating these centers for refuge rather than focusing on the negative aspects of everything.

Question:

If "YOU" personally were responsible for 400 million lives in the aftermath of a mega disaster, what would your plans be? How would you accommodate millions, and coordinate?

These are not FEMA Camps...Ft Polk in Louisiana is listed...its an Army post that US Army troops train at. It list another on south of Fort Polk that I know is and has been a federal prison for many years now and a low security prison at that...know someone who spent 5 years there...it list Ft Campbell in Kentucky...I know Ft Campbell very well and there are no plans to house anymore people here than those that are already here and its way too many.

If you are going to put up junk then at least do some research and determine if its even true. These are established facilities that have been in place for a very long time....Ft Campbell has been around since WW2....this is just stupid...in the event of an emergency couls these facilities be used to house people whose homes were destroyed by nature...yes as long as nature did not destroy them as well...but the local mall couls be used...or school....or university....or any building for that matter.

Stop this stupid crap about the FEMA Camps it is not true....Alex Jones is a liar

Right you are imo, also think about the shelters open now for extreme weather, those would instantly become filled to capacity if they are still standing. This is a nightmare any way you look at it when it comes to coordinating something on such a large scale.

Our town already has some well grounded ideas and plans to get food, water , meds out to our community in the event of a disaster. It is in partnership with fema, and yet we know that in a mega disaster we cannot count on big gove to step in and save our butts so we have made plans to take care of ourselves first and then be open to whatever the gov can help with after that.

i might say that most every post office would be a Federal site that can be converted into a reeducation base for all those terrorists in the OWS movement (as they seem the only civilian element that might be targeted for arrest and placement into a FEMA camp)

here's another place that might be labeled a DHS facility and claied to be a civilian internment camp..

see: chris_macdonald@bestgo

Manhattan Kansas: "... the Department of Homeland Security is building a $720 million National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility, due to be completed by 2018.

When that opens the local economy will likely get another boost..."

A Bio-&-Agro Defense Facility sounds like a 'control-the-population' center to me...

thanks

I find it somewhat strange that in one of the most highly populated cities in the country, New York City, there is only one FEMA camp on all these maps (with the exception of Pier 57 which is not listed on any of the FEMA maps). You would think that there would be many, many more for a major metropolitan city with a population exceeding 8 million people.

Yankee Stadium (the old one and the newly built one) is located on 161st street a mere 5 minute walk from Criminal AND Supreme court.

You learn something new everyday.

We all heard about what happened in the stadium during Hurricane Katrina.

If I was applying for a job at Ft. Leavenworth Kansas or Gitmo, this is the job description too. Don't read death camp into it. Oh thats right "you're not". Just "posting", right? Death camps in WWII were heapum big secret during the war. Show me smoke stacks and mounds of hair, eyeglasses, and gold teeth. Then we got something.
