Senate passes defense bill with detainee policy compromise

Washington (CNN) -- The Senate on Thursday passed a giant defense bill that includes a new policy for detaining and trying suspected al Qaeda terrorists -- a policy that attracted controversy during the debate and may draw a presidential veto.
The defense authorization bill passed by a vote of 93-7.

Well...

Appears your congress has finally agreed on something; this is what Obama meant by crossing party lines... I think it left out it was all to screw the People.

Seriously. From what I have read, it seems US military/FBI/CIA can "detain" American citizens for as long as required if suspected of "terrorist" activity. One might say "Sure, that sounds fair.. IF someone, regards of who, wants to kill Americans they deserve to be locked up until it's investigated". Just wait until you find out what they will now define as "terrorism".

This, even though it's coming from a Canadian, is extremely shocking.
