Personal attacks, both subtle and overt. Snarky commentary. Euphemisisms used in a derogatory fashion. Anything designed to instigate conflict, rather than discussion. These are going to stop. Fair warning.
So does this apply to personal attacks on Obama? Because I read some terrible stuff said about him, that aren't backed up by any facts.
I suppose my question applies to other candidates as well.
And what about factual statements that are said in a derogatory manner.
Such as:
"Michelle Bachman is a warmongering, torture supporting, bible thumping, brunette"edit on 22-11-2011 by Ghost375 because: (no reason given)
"Obamerica - where kids are taught treason in the schools their taxes pay for."

This is just a freeforall for staffers to censor their opposing views.
OWS supporter on staff? Guess where that one is gong to be active.
Ron Paul supporter on Staff, again stamp out that opposition.
It will be denied up and down, but the fact remains that "teabaggers" has always been an acceptable term around here but come up with an acronym for OWS and it won't make it past the first offended supporter who reports it.
Personal attacks are a different animal, not a part of my above observation.

What about using a candidate's name and turning it into a derogatory term? Such as is seen with Obama and the dozens of variations on his name.... I view those who do that as childish, but it seems a popular method when trashing POTUS. And, it can and will certainly be employed on other candidates too.edit on 22-11-2011 by Jason88 because: (no reason given)

You want to stop political trolling, your best bet is to get rid of the poliyical forum alltogether. It would be the best thing to happen to ATS in a long time. Theres plenty of other websites to debate polotics on the net. I don't think ATS needs to stoop to that level, lets just stick with the conspiricies.
