Nah. We WANT it to succeed - provided it develops proper and realistic goals. What we SEE indicates that it hasn't hope in hell of success. No matter how many times we kick OWS in the ass, though, it seems to insist that failure is the proper course.

Why the visceral anger and repudiation towards ows while giving the elite a pass for their genocidal wars and manufactured financial collapse?

I'll let you know if I see that happening anywhere. I'll have to see it in action before I can figure out the "why" of it.

Why such an active, daily, almost militant effort here on ats against peaceful people risking life and limb to speak truth to power?

Same as above - I'll let you know if I see it happening anywhere. Wouldn't there have to BE "peaceful people risking life and limb to speak truth to power" before anyone could rally against such?

you tout a system where for every dollar you bank the banks can gamble 9x that dollar for the chance to make money and when they lose it costs you.

you claim to want people to be fruitful,
but when the odds are stacted against you 9 to 1 i cant see how you are acually keeping the fruit of your labour.

Simple solution: Stop banking your money.

Why do you bank your money to begin with, then complain about it?

if this movement was not world wide i would say you might have a point,
but for every 1 person at a protest there are 5 that have too many comitments to acually show up in person.

Source, please. Anyone can pull numbers out of their.... er, I mean anyone can pull numbers out of thin air.

capatialism allows the regulation of the volume of the money supply,
flood the "market" (no such free market for money and its cost) and everyone has jobs,
drain the market and everybody loses their houses.

So do communism and socialism.

Revolutions are hard work; who do you think works harder: the people on the streets protesting(99%), or the people who have engineered themselves into power and money(1%).

The Occupy movement has to work harder and smarter than those they are protesting against, otherwise they will never win. And from what I have seen, no one who is Occupying has the brains or the work ethic to overthrow the "1%".

Don't worry. You guys will keep standing your ground in the streets, the banks will keep collecting your stuff from under you, and I'll keep working my ass off so that one day I can stand up and voice my opinion. Real Revolution will come, I just hope my chances to see change aren't shot to bits because the Occupiers don't have the patience or the intellect to bring about actual change.

Occupation is not victory.

Edit: this is an opinion of mine. You are entitled to your opinion. If you tell me I am wrong; prove it. Otherwise, you are also stating an opinion.

there are people all over the world who hate OWS doing nothing but they are constantly posting talking and trying to derail the movement,
do you realise you are also flooding the net with the discusions
democracy is not pretty, is not simple,
it is everybody EVERYBODY discusing whats best for the people.

i can proove that there is more about OWS and democracy than there are stories about justin beba
this was not true just six months ago

everybody is discussing freedom, democracy and what they want to see happen,
this means that people will put effort into the system.

this means acual change in the mindset of a nation
in the hearts and minds of a nation the idea of true freedom is born

and this is a conciquence of OWS

Ya!

That will fix it!

Disorganization and chaos never solved anything. OWS is a shining example!

Stop Trolling!

mabey you missed the point,
when there are no imediate demands, and there are no leaders to buy off,
people have to self orginise,

you do realise there is a profound difference between anarky,
and self orginization.

the only difference is you dont have high payed "leaders" deciding who to sell out to

when traffic lights were removed from a sweden intersection because of too many acidents and people had to acually watch what was going on rather than just following the lights (think leaders) the number of acidents dropped and no deaths so far for two years.

it is a falicy that we cannot orginize in a homogious way as the traffic light example shows, and infact the average speed throught that area increased.

so do you now understand?

Point received. I think that it is good for the O.M. to generate talk about change, democracy, freedom, etc. but if no progressive action is being taken to see the change that is being talked about, then they are only working against themselves. The O.M. will one day reach a point where it will have to disband (fail), or take violent action against the 1%. There is no other way to ensure the change they wish to see is made. Sad as it is. [Rome didn't fall at the voices of protesters, it fell at the swords and spears of the "barbarians" (HA!) who were fed up with Roman rule.]

So when it comes down to it, I cannot put my support behind the O.M. because they are far from victory, and if/when they fail, my chances to see a positive change are diminished and I will have to work even harder to make any actual change. What they are doing is cementing the power of the 1%.

I say, talk away, but don't act unless you are willing to die for your actions[err, ideals, thoughts, opinions], which many in the O.M. are not or else they would already be dead and America would be in a real state of Revolution.

We will just have to see what come's of this then... but if I have to make a guess, I would say that people who's job it is to pass those bills/amendments have already been bought and no amount of "do what's right" will convince them to give up their cozy places in life.

This is a Rich Man's World

thats why the spot light has been put on the politicians with a sixty minute episode
where they exposed the fact that congress has exempted themselves from insider trading laws.
and then profited off non public insider information.

when under a spot light even rats will try to look respectable.

Too Big To Fail

I wonder where I've heard that one before...

If you're trying to instill confidence.
You're doing it wrong...

Because that did not work out for the banks at all did it?
