So what do you think? Does OWS represent 99% of all Americans? I will admit that they have some good points on some of the issues that all Americans face, but do they really represent 99% of us or a smaller number? Are they ruining their cause and credibility by allowing violence and illegal activity in their midst?

I'll answer this first, because I'm bringing it up. I don't really feel they represent me. I spend 9 hours at work every day, and pay the taxes that are allowing many of the OWS people to be out protesting and still eat and pay their rent. I have way too many dollars worth of student loans racked up that I chip away at a little bit each month, trying to get them payed down. Yeah, it sucks but I knew going in that I was going to have student loans. For Pete's sake, I signed the loan papers. It's called a loan....meaning you are expected to pay it back! Also, I would never support violence during a protest. If there was violence and illegal activity I would remove myself from the protest. Lastly, OWS should be protesting the government because it is the government that passes the laws tht allow the corporate criminals to take advantage of the system and to cheat hardworking Americans out of their money. Yes, wall street is crooked and that is an understatement! Never the less, in order for anything to change we must get the laws changed first and foremost. Of course, this could go on and on as it is an endless subject. However, my main point is that OWS doesn't represent 99% of the people. They represent themselves and their supporters, and they shouldn't claim to represent the 99%. What do you think? Do they represent you?

Of course not. I'm not a socialist. They should be protesting the federal reserve not wall street.

The government passes the laws, yes
Its the corporations that pay them to pass the laws. Ergo, the corporations are still at fault. And as for representing me, not fully no, but i believe they are the key to changing the bull# we live in.

Sadly, most people will not get it until the entire system #s them.

Also the personalities accepting the money from corporations who have become little slaves to the almighty dollar.

They are actually DOING something to show their displeasure with the current ways of our country which has been causing it to go down the drain, FAST...

For this ONE single reason alone, they represent myself as well as the 99% of Americans who are TIRED of getting the SHAFT. Not to mention the horror of a future that our CHILDREN and GRANDCHILDREN will have if nothing changes....

So YES, they represent all of us here who work hard to succeed in life and want to have at least SOMETHING to show for our hard work and efforts. To have a decent future for our children and grandchildren for whom the future looks very dim for...

Only the SNAKES and SHILLS among us seem to be angry with the VALID messages of the Occupy moment. The very SNAKES that want things to remain on the SAME destructive path that is RUINING America for us normal hard-working folks that just want a decent life for ourselves and our children and their children...

No I don't. Wish they did.

Any group I would align with would have to have a clear message and be organized enough to keep out the Anarchist, violent thugs and paid Partisans or Union operatives. This movement is a total bust. No person worth a damn would ever align with thugs and criminals and letting them inside made the whole thing worthless.

It could have been a good thing. Now the only choice the good people involved have is to go home and let the authorities clean up the trash.

Do they represent me?
No.
sites.google.com...
Above is a link that describes the OWS issues.

Also, I don't trust anyone who comes out of the woodwork and claims to represent me, without asking what I want

I determine who represents me.
I make that choice.
Not anyone else.
Period.

Did they ever ask if they could represent me? No.
Right away they claimed to.
That irritated this sad little bunny.

They aren't even close to representing me.

Hmm... Do I believe OccupyWallStreet represents me? Well, that is a good question...

I believe that they are simply making the case that something is not right in America today, or even the world for that matter. They've read the stories, they've seen the corruption, and now they have a general consensus of the fact that a lot of things could possibly be very different right now. I personally believe it's their own attempt to 'knock on the door' so to speak, and just kind of say... "Yea, so what's really good?" -- "What's the real situation?" -- "What are your real plans for stabilizing the future economy?" -- Ya know? S*** like that.

Everyone as an individual, has their own personal reasons for being concerned about the events and later circumstances that await us, and the future generations, on this planet that we call Earth. But...

Am I concerned? No, no I am not. But that's just my own mind set. Now, back to your original question...

Do I think OWS represents me?

I think they represent the people... and the people only. They represent the struggles that millions are facing in todays seemingly out of control market place, etc.

A lot of them aren't stupid. 99% is a metaphor. And honestly... I will give you one thing, "They only support them, and their supporters."

Damn f***in' straight, and that's good.

But even still, they're trying to accomplish much more than it seems... They don't give a f*** if your doing well, sitting there... "Yea I'm not the 99%, I'm doing pretty well for myself." -- Well, that's awesome, it really is. A lot of people are. I'm fully aware of my own capabilities. But I guess their trying to stand up for the greater good, the greater good of the less fortunate, and everybody in between. Now, whether or not they're successful, or their concept falls under the category of being, 'a little to far'fetched' -- 'a little to unrealistic.' -- 'presumably meaningless' -- Ya know what?.. I commend them. Because like I said... at least their knocking on the f***ing door.

I don't believe in demands like Jobs for all.

Jobs for all. A massive public works and public service program we demand a massive dem controlled public works and public service program with direct government employment to create 25 million new jobs at good union wages. This is to be paid for with new taxes on rich, transactions, corporate profits by reinstatement of the Glass-Steagal act as well as ending all US wars, disbanding mercenaries, ending aid to authoritarian regimes.

They don't want a job, they want a lifetime guarantee.

And since when did OWS get involved in monitoring international elections. Guess they are trying to steal Jimmy Carter's job.

So we are requesting for 20 people to go to Egypt on November 25th, which will cost $29,000, and this will include transportation, hostel accommodations, and airfare. We will be putting a call-out through all the working groups to send us three representatives who will be candidates and eventually decided upon by the Egyptian Coalition, who will go to Egypt to represent OWS and help them monitor these democratic elections.

A Beautiful world

Direct Action: November 17th: Jordan: One week from today we are going to shut down Wall Street! We are going to stop the opening bell at the stock exchange and in its place we are going to ring the people’s bell! And it will be awesome! And we will create a massive carnival that will demonstrate the beautiful world we are creating together.

Comrades

So our response is that we agree that it’s important to show our militancy. When we were coming up with this we looked to our comrades who thew down in Seattle in 1999. The way that went down is that they were really militant and they were also beautiful.

They do not represent me, at all!

However, I represent the 99%.

This issue is much deeper than a figurehead to represent an entire nation that pulses with discontent towards a system that is unarguably in a desperate state of need.

The choices Occupy movements have made and the people that align themselves with Occupy does not represent the embedded need for change to the status quo.

Most of us support the need for change as many of you would agree, but this goes much deeper than Occupy protests!

Certainly in a grass roots way. Yet not entirely accurate. But at least the awareness is there.

Check out this link, and click play in the upper right for this short interview with Roger Waters.

Maybe I am mistaken.

I think you are referring to this....

[I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.]

But that has things mentioned like God and Support and Defend the Constitution. I'm sure many who are advocating the Communist agenda will have issues with the wording, never mind the meaning or intent. Also. the thread was 'Do you think OWS represents you?' Not, "Why doesn't SLAYER69 be a good little sheep and fall inline with what a small vocal minority want?"

I hope the clears up a few points .

PEACE

I champion their right to speak out, but no they do not represent me. While I may not be for the big banks and the Intl banking cartel, the agenda of OWS is clearly anti-capitalist and the communist party supports them for that. No, they do not represent me. More socialism than we already have will kill this country.

The people who run OWS are the type of people I despise. Idealistic naive idiots.

The arguments that originally inspired OWS i agree with. They are the exact same that first inspired the Tea Party. But, like the TP, OWS was hijacked by imbeciles ..

So in short: No.

Not just no, but HELL NO! Among the people I interact with on a daily basis, I've yet to find even a single one who feels OWS represents them.

Are they ruining their cause and credibility by allowing violence and illegal activity in their midst?

Considering the lack of coherence present in the camps, with everyone speaking but no one "representing the movement", I'm not entirely sure it's possible for them to damage their credibility. The illegal activity and emerging violence, however, is doing nothing at all to improve their image.
