First the Seawolf, then Virginia, now FAS...
Is the FAS supposed to be cheaper than the Seawolf? And what exactly is the philsophy behind the FAS? Same as Virginia?

I don't think price is even a factor at this point, it is still in the concept stage.
As far as the philosophy, it is supposed to switch attention from accoustic stealth to sensor equipment.
IMHO, this means that they are trying to increase the range at which they can detect an enemy and fire on it, thus taking an airforce line of thinking
of "first look, first shot, first kill."
At this point I guess they are confident in their stealth tech and want to be able to "reach out and touch someone."

Dragon - do you think that the new propulsion system will be as stealthy and as fast (if not faster)?

I thought SSNs were like 1.5-2.5 a piece, not 15. Or is that for all that are going to be built?

wow. Add to that the cost to train the crew and feed them for what - like 3 months? Thats a big investment.
Do you know of any new manufacturing or design techniques that could lower the cost for future submarines?

Are you trying to tell us that you are in possession of classified U.S. government information?
And that you intend to downgrade, sanitize, or de-classify either portions or entire documents which you will thne make avaiable to the general
public?

no, they are declassfyed, i fell that you dont need to know the prices of certin things. i would never release classafyed or top secret docs. that i
have. that would be treason and the end of my job, freedom, and life.
i miss typed, jet lag will do that.
