First of all, I want to welcome you all to this first edition of "Doomers' Monthly".

Straight out I should admit that I am unsure if there ever will be a second edition. That is partly because I am inherently lazy and partly because, well, because I am a doomer.

The reason why I have taken it upon myself to author this newsletter is because it has been a tough time for us doomers of late. The indications are there for all to see that we are in for it, big time, but thus far all likely contenders have failed to live up to expectations, leaving us lot feeling a tad sheepish for having dared to express our thoughts and beliefs so brazenly.

Elenin was a total disappointment, YU55 sailed on past without so much as a hint of a promise of 'hey I'll give it a better shot next time'. The various rumblings and spewings from Mother Earth are mere taunts of the excitement to come. Meanwhile the greatest continuously likely source of Armageddon right now seems to be emanating from the world of banking and finance. Perhaps the singularly most tedious of all possible ways for the world to end. I mean seriously? If the Holocene extinction ends up being traced back to dodgy accounting in Europe then I am going to be one seriously unhappy doomer....if that makes any sense.

But I say don't give up! Stay positive (figuratively of course). The doubters and know-it-all debunkers will get their come-uppance. They'll end up just as dead as everybody else that has ever or will ever question our beliefs or motives. Don't let them get you down (or up?); don't let them stop you from posting doom-laden threads on ATS. You have the right to do so and one day we'll be right. And they will be wrong. And THEY will have to come on here and say: "I am wrong, I am sorry. What, where is everybody? I said I'm sorry"

My fellow doomers, I salute you.

This inaugural issue of "Doomers' Monthly" will now continue with a discussion about the likelihood of a major pandemic wiping out millions by, let's say, late December next year.............

Our Doom has been moving in slowly for a long time......it's the things we don't give much thought to....
But they continue to multiply and attack all aspects of our lives while we wait for the Big One!

My question is..Will the people of EARTH GO BEFORE THE PLANET EARTH DIES OFF, or Will the earth and people all go at the same time?

Hear, hear! As my doctor always warns me: "Lad, you are going to die. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but I'm afraid to say one day you will die, if it takes you 200 years."

Okay, but if you're expecting doom, and in all actuallity, there is nothing you can do to stop it, then why stress over it? Why freak out and try to get everyone else into a panic over something that no one can control? If doom is coming, as I'm sure it is one day, then who cares. Embrace it, and enjoy the ride. Try enjoying the time you have left and stop worring over when it's all going to end.

There is real doom! The financial and banking sectors are wobbly on the ropes. Fukishima is still raging.

And the "daddy" of all doom is heading straight in. I'll leave that to your imagination. -------------

Nice one dude, This is the first thread on this site that has put a smile on my face in a very long time. I know exactly how you feel, the anticipation of waiting to die horribly is killing me.

I salute you back.

Firstly, I have been dooming all my life, and think the newsletter is a great idea, and should definitely continue. I hear you on the recent failed Armageddons, which seemed so promising. I actually didn't do one damn thing at work yesterday just in case YU55 caused an ELE; I knew it would not hit with the way things have been going though. I think we have been PSY-OPed and we will not be rewarded the fairly quick end that the MSM seemed to promise all my life. Look forward to an increasing financial erosion that may take the rest of our lives. One thing for sure though, the next generation doesn't have a chance.

this thread reminds me of fries , now what is fries with out the ketchup? you have salt and pepper the fries but the ketchup just does not what to come out of the bottle, oh yes you can get "the squeeze" kind but what is the fun in that?

It is the anticipation that is worth all the fuss, or if your in a hurry for the red stuff you can put a knife in it, but then that is cheating, or you can burp it you know "smack" the back of the bottle but then you make a big mess for it gets all over , some on your fries, if at all not me i like to hold it and watch it come out slllllllloooooooooooww, by this time my fries are nice and cool but still hot enough to take in the taste of the red stuff, so what does this have to do with doom and gloom??

It is the willingness to wait, to absorb all that there is , poke fun at the failed "the end is near" that come and go, just as the same way i poke my fires in red stuff, sometimes i like to smear it around covering all the fry with the red stuff or sometimes just a dab, never eat fries with a fork nor should you never have more than one doom and gloom in a week, but sometimes one can not help ones self for it does at times gets so good one can not wait so out comes the fork and open mouth here it comes... wait for it... an other day of doom and gloom.

Will all come to an abrupt end at noon, (my time, that is Utah ) when the EAS goes off will Obama say it was nice to have known ya, or will be like all the rest, waiting for it come but then it is an empty bottle.

Seeing as we've only got three hours until the nation-wide Emergency Broadcast System test uses mind control rays to turn everyone who listens into flesh eating undead zombies, distracting the rest of us from the real Planet X which has been cloaking itself in our skies for the last four years, I think you may have jumped the gun on this one.

I'm so lazy I forgot to answer your question: will we see the END by means of pandemic before dec 21, 2012??? with ever year that passes, the likelihood of depopulation by disease increases, whether weaponized or not. This is a very real and likely scenario. Not really a question of IF, but of When. We can't go on forever, but I think we will make it past the Mayan doomsday. The population of the human species will drop significantly in the next century. I'm sure of it!

I wish I could say I understood what you were getting at but the whole ketchup, knife and fork metaphor has left me feeling rather....hungry.

But if I do understand you right, you were wanting me to make some sort of doom laden prophesy that you can pick holes in (or stick a fork in) and eat

OK but before I do. Thanks to everyone for the stars and flags - much appreciated - I'll see about getting a cabinet for them (second hand of course. No point in buying anything new under the present circumstances). Nice as stars and flags are though, I find that money works well for me. And if this newsletter is going to take off I need and assistant and a sizeable injection of capital

But my doom theory is that we are about to see a big pandemic. I mean really big. TPTB know it is coming but they made such a big fuss over H1N1 they know people are going to be skeptical this time around. Right now there is a major PR campaign going on to remind people about the potential danger of a pandemic. The message is twofold: scare the crap out of people so that when it happens, we will do exactly what they tell us to (again).

My reason for this is the sudden upsurge in media attention to diseases. TIME magazine has now written about tracking pandemics for two weeks in a row. The BBC this morning was highlighting the danger of antibiotic resistant infections. Local press are talking about abnormal spikes in the number of influenza cases. I would be interested to know what other people are seeing hearing around them, but my senses are up. I am involved in the PR profession and this has all the hallmarks of a classic campaign but it is being run on a large scale.

Thoughts???

There's also been a visible campaign at local convenience & drug stores (I'm in Chicago) encouraging people to come in for flu vaccine shots. Much more visible than in past years. Part of the PR campaign? Or maybe my tinfoil hat is just on a little tighter these days.

And what about outbreaks of unknown illnesses over the last few weeks? Maybe it's already starting...

you are so close yet so far , kids not see doc with out there shots , CDC has a zombie add, H1N1, H1N5, and the new super bug found in Asia, out break of influenza, all come to mind so why so much of it ? could you be on the right track? or is it just a way to get the profits up for big Pharmacy, and inject kids with the chip, do not leave that one out, a new day is coming, will you fall for the trap?

Never lose heart being a doomer.
As a Christian, it is worth pointing out that in the end scoffers will come, and will wonder where is the 'end' that we keep on about. Perhaps this is due to the amount of false doom scenarios?

11/11/11 is intriguing, but as no one knows the day or the hour, it won't be the end, neither will 21/12/2012. In fact it's time to get excited on days with no predictions at all.

Could be. Could be simply that it's flu season. Taken in isolation it is easy to think it's nothing abnormal, that is why I am interested to know if others are seeing things that might collectively appear very 'abnormal'.

I shall go and read my TIME article to see if sheds any further light on things...
