JERUSALEM — Israel has authorized its military to take all necessary steps to stop rocket fire from Gaza, including a ground operation, an Israeli military official said Tuesday, as Egypt worked on a truce and said Israel had agreed to delay stepping up its response.
The Israeli government decision stopped well short of ordering tanks to roll into Gaza, and it appeared unlikely that would happen, as rocket fire all but stopped over the past day.
I wonder how many rocket attacks from Mexico into El Paso or Los Angeles it would take before people would call for an all out war across borders?..

I guess we'll have to wait for the US to invade Mexico, claim and occupy their land, bulldoze their homes, destroy their historical sites and plant trees there instead, and then force all the Mexicans into tightly controlled ghettos monitored by gunpoint.

Bad analogy, I guess..
The Border War, or the Border Campaign[1], refers to the military engagements which took place in the Mexican-American border region of North America during the Mexican Revolution. From the beginning of it in 1910, the United States Army was stationed in force along the border and on several occasions fought with Mexican rebels or federals. The height of the conflict came in 1916 when revolutionary Pancho Villa attacked the American border town of Columbus, New Mexico. In response, the United States Army, under the direction of General John J. Pershing, launched an expedition into northern Mexico, to find and capture Villa. Though the operation was successful in finding and engaging the Villista rebels, the revolutionary himself escaped and the American army returned to the United States in January 1917. Conflict at the border continued however and the United States launched several more smaller operations into Mexican territory until 1919 when violence decreased significantly after the Battle of Ambos Nogales. Conflict was not only subject to Villistas and Americans; Maderistas, Carrancistas, Constitutionalistas and Germans also engaged in battle with American forces during this period. The war was one of the highlights of the Old West era.
