Bruce Lee's quote about "Be like water" is all about his created martial arts style (Jeet Kune Do) and life philosophy.

Bruce Lee believed back then (much what we all believe now in relation to martial arts and combat sports) that traditional martial arts was too "scripted" and predictable. He actually called Martial Arts "dry land swimming" in one interview. It was pretty funny.

His belief was you can not plan for all aspects of a fight. You had to be like water, no shape no form. Even if you drop a boulder in front of a path of water, water does not stop. It flows around. It is adaptable, it has no form. So in combat one must "be like water".

You can read a bit more about Jeet Kune Do here on Wiki

WOW!

If they're all like this keep them coming, fantastic!
Do you know... it's funny, another ats'er said the same thing to me the other day, "Be as water my friend" and I actually said this to my kids this morning!

Love it.

Nobody, just another amateur philosopher unsatisfied with the world around him. This is a question I could write a book on, but I'll spare everyone that.

Thanks for the video, I've never seen that before.
