I think we can all agree by now that the mainstream media is the equivalent of a limpDyk when it comes to really covering what's going on. When was the last time anyone on the TV news actually break from the corporate-approved script and ask a truly valid question of someone like say, President Bush? You won't. If you wanna get the real dope on what's going on, you're gonna havta do your own digging. Thank God we have the net and there are folks willing to dig and report the actual truth beyond the fiction. Here's a link to some of the folks who are watching the watchers. Cheers!

Beleive it or not, there are standards in journalism. Visiting the places below may open your eyes to what you're not getting from your media— and maybe get you to do something about it. -Leigh

"A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves."

"Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth -- more than ruin -- more even than death.…Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man."

"The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn."

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction....The chain reaction of evil--hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars--must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation."

"Rise like lions after slumber in invanquishable number -- Shake your chains to earth like dew which in sleep had fallen on you -- ye are many -- they are few."

"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And when you look long into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you."

"Man is free at the moment he wishes to be."
